ati x600 > 8800gtx

hiya guys i`m going from an ati x600 pro to an 8800gtx today what do i need to do driver wise to clean my system of the old drivers so i dont get any conflicts etc.

I was going to be silly and ask if i would notice much of an improvement just for laughs

I'm sure it's the first link that you want but I'm not 100% on this as I just remove the driver, delete the ATI folder and then install the new drivers.

The 3rd link is just a forum thread about the Driver Sweeper program.

Hopefully someone can verify this for you .

I just uninstalled my ATI card, shut down, put the 8800 in, installed drivers and sorted.

Never done this driver clean thingie and never had a problem

Download + install driver cleaner pro
Add/remove programs> uninstall using the "ATI- software uninstall utility".
Restart computer in safe mode
run driver cleaner pro, remove all ati stuff.
Turn off PC, remove ati card, replace with your 8800gtx.
Boot up install nvidia drivers

100% correct. Never had any problems doing it this way and that is how I've just gone from an ATI x800xt to a Nvidia 8800 as well. Easy.

Ok guys i have it installed using latest beta drivers ran 3dmark06 got 11k improvment on my 5k with last card does that sound right

anyhow my actual question is as i am unfamilliar with these drivers how do i get wmp10 to display on my plasma a have it in dualview but when i play a film in wmp it now only displays on my monitor Ati call it library view i think but i cant find anything like that

Thought it looked wrong. I was about to say 16k was a fantasic score.

I cant remember to be honest think it had a 5 in it somewhere
