Speed-limiting devices may put brakes on company car drivers

New vans at work have been fitted with 75mph limiters, makes for pretty nasty over taking when you aren't used to it!

Makes me glad my company car is going back at the end of the month, and will not be replaced.

Its only a matter of time till they say all cars should be fitted with limiters. I don't speed myself but come on.

Its the 'Well i've been to oxford so i know what real people want' attitude of some junked up ministers not living in the real world inventing rules to justify a job that they shouldn't have in the first place.

As a further incentive, it proposes big increases in the cost of vehicle excise duty. The price of taxing the worst polluting vehicles, which is currently £300 a year, would at least double to £600.

This really annoys me. Even if we cut all of our CO2 emissions down completely, what kind of percentage would that have on the worlds CO2? 5%?

Will traffic flow better on motorways? Or will it be static bumper to bumper driving like what HGV's do?

However don't be under the illusion this will save you any money, the gov need to money from someplace so taxes will go up in another area.

I doubt it would even register, relative to the rest of the worlds emissions.
