For those who question why some watches are expensive

Found this very good little page covering design and production techniques

http://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/professions.do

sure it won't appeal to everyone but I found it very interestingits about 10 mins long

since buying my JLC 2 weeks ago I have been amazed bt it's accuracy, it still hasn't moved by a second :eek:

Looks interesting, take it it has sound though? Damn Work PC and no speakers lol. Have to look properly when I get home.

Also, have you thought about replacing the batteries? :p

I was looking into being a watch maker there is a place in Manchester that is taking students and training them up to be a master watch maker, dont know how much the course is but I think it would be a great career and watchmakers are getting old and retiring its not really a pursued career with youn ones these days.

Interesting, but the script the voice is reading out is . . well . . ridiculous. "The movement is the organ that gives life to the watch". "Each watchmaker breathes into it something of his own soul". Lol!

I'd never heard more buzzwords and soul selling than in a management and health and safety lecture.... then I saw this. :p

Very interesting but I still think its comparable to having sex glued to the ceiling in a velcro suit whilst wearing a diamond tiara, when it would be easier and just as good in bed. Your wallet wouldn't burn from buying the velcro suit and tiara either. :D

tenuous metaphor...

You should have a work warning with that link :p clicked on it, and went back to my normal working to read the page later. All of a sudden i hear voice's...is it only me that can hear them :eek:, has work finaly made me crazy!? No by the looks of others they can hear them aswell. A well they all know i skive all day on the net anyway, have it talking to them just make it easyer for them to moan about it.

me = busted :(
