Rugby Union World Cup (**Spoilers**)

World Champions my ****!!!!!

Yes i'm a Welsh supporter, no I don't think Wales are going to fair much better tomorrow against the Aussies, but my god that was bad!

As a little side note I think England were lucky in the last world cup, yeah they were better than they have been in years, but the other teams were also worse than they had been in years. IMO the Welsh 2005 Grand Slam team were better than the England 2003 World cup team (immaterial I know).

I know naff all about rugby really other than playing at school and watching it on the tv, but that was appalling. No urgency, no passion, no idea, no anything. Robinson was the best player until he went off because he at least looked like he was interested and that he wanted it. Not until the last 10mins did they actually recycle the ball quickly and look interested in it. But its no good doing it when you're 30 odd points down.

Like I said, no expert but the team needs an overhaul. I think they have to start all over. Give the younger players their chance. If they lose, they lose. But as they play together more there will be more understanding with each other and they will be able to threaten again. Continuing to go completely with experience is our downfall and its time to put it right. I always heard that winning the cup in 2003 was the reward for a 10 year building period. Unfortunately we need it again.

Any experts on rugby are welcome to correct me and pull my post to pieces :p Very upset tonight having watched that though. :(

!!South African alert!!
OK game, nothing to write home about. Nothing too physical, nothing overly exiting.

I feel for Jason Robinson - we all knew that was the last time he was going to walk of a Rugby field, and the way he went out was a massive shame.

/tips my hat to him

Oh **** you. Yes it was a bad game but you HAD to bring the last WC up...which we WON!?!?

FFS bait alert.

A bit of a stuffing really, it isn't often you see an international team score no points. South Africa played pretty well (their number 11 seemed to be immense) but England were fairly poor. I make no secret of the fact that I'm not an England fan but I was disappointed to see Jason Robinson leave like that, he is and has been a great player for them plus he looked like the best chance for an English score until he got taken off. That is never the way you want to see someone leave, particularly not someone who has given so much to rugby, hopefully it isn't that serious. :)

The team has obviosuly changed a lot in four years but I really expected to see a stronger performance from England. Didn't realise they we're playing last night till I wandered down St Marys and all the bars had it on.

Nevermind... my red jersey is ironed and ready ;)

Shocking performance. No heart, no battle and more worrying a lack of ability.

Bring back MJ :(

That's what we have to realise, we don't have the quality that we had at the last world cup and we were just outclassed yesterday and there isn't much we can do about it, although we should have put some points on the board ourselves.

Yep you're right there and I think you missed one thing from your list "No Dean Richards as Head Coach"

Where are you now Deano when we need you most?

What the hell are you talking about!? Typical Welsh biased claptrap. England were World Number 1 for 2 years prior to the World cup, and beat every team, on their home soil - that team was simply monstrous. I cant believe you could possible write what you just wrote with a straight face! apart from the 2005 grand slam - when was the last time Wales won a grand slam!?? My God please stop sprouting carp!

Not looking bad so far....

25/1?

I said Australia -21.5pts at 5/4 was an awesome bet, thats looking pretty decent. Only problem with the 5 point margins is if a try takes them to 39 points ahead, you're desperately praying they miss it, and if they do, then Wales get a try, you're back to square one :p

Good luck with it though :)

Just checked that price out, it's now 4/1!

Sorry for being a bit thick here but isn’t the world cup hosted in France? why in god’s name are they playing at Cardiff and Scotland  why isn’t Twickenham in the equation then? I don’t get it!

France ensured they got votes from the Celtic RFU's to host the world cup by bribing them with home games.
There'd be a game at Lansdowne Road as well if it wasn't a building site.

Wales put on a good effort. Shame they lost, they did put up a fight though. Only groups though :)

Cardiff was amazing today, i love international match days. This is just a quick post before I head back to st marys st to continue the night.

Enjoy!
