Basically after recieveing my new monitor today from a competitor I found a few very unwelcome dead pixels, which have highly annoyed me. Will I be forced to pay postage to return the item if im sending back under the DSA?. The screen I deem unfit for purpose since It has such a defect which affects my use of it. Does anyone have any advice?. Im still going to see what the competitor says tommorow just wondered where I stand on this.

How many dead pixels, check to see what the manufactorer's policy is regarding them as if it's outside of tolerance then you wont have to pay for shipping.

So you buy a monitor from a competitor rather than OCUK and then come to the OCUK forums asking the Dons for advice because you got a dud...

He didn't ask the Dons for anything

OP; you will likely have to pay the postage even if you were RMA'ing it :(

Who said he was asking for a Dons advice? He is simply asking whether or not he will have to pay postage to return his item.

you can ask advice on here about buying anything, as long as you dont post links or say where you got it from,

If the goods are faulty then you don't have to pay postage otherwise you do. You can return goods ordered online within 14 days for any reason and get a refund but you have to pay the postage unless the goods are faulty.

Not very constructive, you dont have to suck up to OcUK here, he is just asking for advice

What??.

Oh and the Issue has been solved. Contacted them today, they set up an RMA and agreed to collect the monitor from me on Monday, now that's service.

Dunno why I added "the dons" in that sentance, think I was thinking of something else at the time but sentiment remains.

Go to forums funded by a business to get advice what to buy, go buy it somewhere else and then then when it's substandard come back here for some more free advice on how to return it. How about just buying it from the business that pays for the forums, which with your post count, you seem to spend half you life on.

It's not sucking up, it's stating the bleeding obvious...

I didn't realise there was a clause in the terms and conditions that you had to buy items from OcUK if you ask for advice?

Coz it was cheaper elsewhere....as he stated. Why would you pay more just because you use there forums.

This is a free forum to talk about anything, perhaps you need to wake up and get your brown tongue cleaned. I have not mentioned any names, prices or stated anything to even hint where I got the item from. Does it say In the FAQ that I have to buy from OcUK to ask for advice about a product?. No. Many people do this I see plenty of similar posts. Wake up and stop being so hostile, you won't last long around here with an attitude like that.

He has not asked the dons for advice

Anyone is allowed to ask for such advice, as long as they don't mention prices, competitors or hint at such things.

Not sure which planet you come from, but if you see such posts as a problem then please get a reality check.

If anything, if the post was concerning OcUK and he was asking for advice on what to do then the post would have been locked as the forums are not for support because staff do not actively read them.

Phone and web notes exist for support.
