I got my self an old laptop from my GF's sister that she was chucking away crazy fool! still works but I cannot get it on the internet It's hardly got any drivers on it won't detect the PCMCIA port so I can't get a wireless card in there and I'm currently trying to use a Belkin 7050 USB Wireless Stick. But I'm having trouble installing drivers for it they lost the old disk, I've downloaded some from the internet and when it tells me in insert the USB Stick I get prompt by the Windows Hardware Update Wizard. On this it scans for the drivers but will not find any its detected as USB2.0 WLAN

Would like to get this lappy up n running

Sounds rather curious, it doesn't recognise the PCMCIA port yet it recognises a USB2.0 device? Or do you mean that is what it should be recognised as?

What methods of getting data onto the laptop do you have? What OS is it running?

It recognised them on windows 98 which was on it before I had it when she first got it so many months ago it had XP it was brought from a certain auction site if I'm correct, But has no driver cd I've installed XP on it and it recognised the USB2.0 WLAN as just that but cannot find any drivers, As for the PCMCIA slot it there is Four Unknown drivers, two are Unknown are the other two are PCI to cardbus bridge. I have not idea where to get these drivers from, I have a 1GB USB stick and CD-RW the Laptop says its a 600e IBM Thinkpad but I think its been upgraded because it has a DVD Drive instead of a floppy disk drive and 3xxmb of ram.

Just seen the make/model, and managed to get this far. Must be a very dated laptop.

The laptop does look dated however I think components have been changed it has more ram then original 600E's have, a DVD drive. I'll give the NT drivers a shot cheers mate :D
