I sent my letter off 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for this cable. I sold my 360 to a mate with no hdd because I need it as it has all my data on. So he's waiting for me to send it to him.

Anyone got theirs yet?

Yeh I have got no email so now I am worrying. I hate filling out forms with pen and sending them off. I just know they wont read it right.

What's with the talk of emails? There was no place to put an email address on the form you send them.

Checked the form myself and I can confirm that there is no section for an email address.

It looks like Ian Flowers is talking about a shop/auction cable and not one from Microsoft (until he confirms things).

Has anyone received theirs yet?

I am waiting for my friend to get his and he sent the form of on release day. We have both done trade in deals with a certain high street shop, but they will only refund us the money for the old drives if returned in 30 days.

Sorry for the late answer i telephoned MS to order the cable and they have my email address from when i registered the console and also from both times my console had to go back for repair.
Like a few other people on the forum i have traded my system in for an elite and have until 30th of september to hand my old system in.

No worries mate.

I guess Microsoft could email people to let them know when the cable is shipped if they sent in the form via the post. There wasn't any section for an email address on the form BUT if they used the serial number from the Pro/Core console on the form and looked up the details they had (assuming people had registered the console) then they could use the email address on file.

Still nothing here though.

I went into the high street retailer on Saturday 1st Sept. (to check what exactly they wanted when you trade in your Pro 360) and they told me that I should call them in advance to make sure that they had the cash in the till/on site to pay me. However they did say that I could get the £140 added to the reward card if I wanted.

Im in the same boat as well, sent the form off by snail mail on the Tuesday after the launch and still waiting.

I got the tranfer kit today.
It took about one hour to transfer 6.5meg of data.

A little bit on the long side.

Perhaps it doesn't just "copy" the drive contents across but instead make an image of the 20gb before it formats the 120gb drive and writes on the new image.

You put your old 20meg h/drive onto the elite then connect one end of the cable to the rear usb port and the other end to your 120meg drive.
You then insert the supplied disc and it asked you if you want to format and transfer you then just press a on the controller.

It formats, and windows formats take forever! ;)

Apparently it formats the 120gb, copies the 20gb over, then formats that, so you loose all the content that come with the bigger drive!
