I was quite excited to hear about the new release of firmware for the n95 (v12). But it feels like i have been waiting ages for the T-mobile version to be released. I tried phoning T-Mobile today but the person i spoke too had no idea what i was talking about.

Just to be sure, has anyone managed to download the T-Mobile version of the firmware v12 or is it still not out yet?

Thanks

v12 changes a lot - one big thing is the GPS - turn on the AGPS and the GPS works usually in 2-10 secs, a vast improvement.

I have just read on a site that it is possible to get the latest firmware v12 by changine my product code on my nokia n95.

As above i am on T-Mobile. Would changing my product code create any problems?

Thanks

Not really because you can change the product key back, done it myself after having the phone for about 2 hours!!

Toke me about 5mins!

Worth doing, my GPS didn't work before works a treat now :D

Im sure this is the link I used,

Thanks begbo,

Its just because after managing to speak to T-Mobile they have no idea when this firmware could be released. Its starting to really annoy me now though! feels like it is taking ages. I have TomTom version 6 coming soon and its going to be pointless trying to use it as i have found the GPS basically useless on the current firmware.
Its reallt tempting to change the product code but i was told that this would invalidate my T-Mobile warrenty.

I am still not to sure as what to do. I find it quite annoying that T-Mobile will not tell me when this update is coming out and from what i have read it makes the phone a whole lot better.

What i cant get round is wether to change the product code or not:confused:

Id did it for mine - it now works a treat (plus no crap from t-mob on it as well)

Its really tempting to go for it. Its just if something goes wrong, T-Mobile wont really care as i have voided the warrenty. The decision is really annoying me. If T Mobile could just give me a date then i would be fine, but they wont, they told me to call nokia tech support and they were useless.

I did it on mine over the weekend and other than Nokia's shoddy backup/restore utility not working it went fine. The only annoyance now is when i'm typing a text I can no longer use the joypad up/down to pick words, I have to use *. Sure I'll get used to it though.

Do I need to do anything to activate the new GPS feature?
