Fifa 08 demo (360)

Been playing the game some more,I really dislike the changing player mode now,I can't pick the right players to use which is frustrating!

Guess its just getting use to tho. The replays look brilliant as said before but just noticed the framerate issues with that,hopefully they will fix that before it being released?

I only noticed any frame-rate issues with FIFA '08 in the tunnel before kick off, otherwise there weren't any. I was playing on PS3 though.

Just had a game Barca vs Man Utd, I took the lead on 25 minutes after a mazy dribble down the right from Messi, crossed the ball in towards the edge of the box, superb volley into the top corner from henry. Minutes from half time United equalise through an amazing 30 yard swerving free kick from ronaldo. This is why I think FIFA will be better than PES this time around. Players don't just looks like their real life counterparts, they play like them. Each team in the demo feels noticeably different, running down the wing with Messi is different to running down the wing with Xavi. I think EA are really onto a winner here.

I downloaded the demo yesterday and have had about 10 matches and I must say I'm very impressed with it. If this years Pro Evo does not have any substantial improvements over Pro Evo 2004+1 or Pro Evo 2004+2, this could be the first Fifa game I buy since Fifa 96. I'm getting tired of Konami not actually doing any work on improving Pro Evo (when it needs it in so many ways), I might be on the verge of giving money to EA :eek:

nowhere near like this. Speed is pretty much all that matters in pro evo.

Is that suggesting that 5 and 6 are basically the same as Pro Evo 4? :confused:

Strange if it is, considering they're nothing like 4. More to the point, it would be no bad thing if they were.

Well although 4 had a vastly different pace to PES 5 and 6 the same basic frame work is used on all 3 games and what felt like a massive change of direction then (4 to 5 crossover) doesn't feel that big in retrospect.
It was certainly time Konami overhauled their game I'm sure you would agree that it needs a refresh? and hopefully it becomes the beautiful game it once was.

EA have been hard working, attempting to perfect a game for the last 3-4 years, each time with HUGE changes.

You can remove the first couple of FIFA's on the XBox360, they are nothing like the series of FIFA's and were clearly made on a totally different engine.

Whilst EA have been making massive beneficial changes, Konami have done nothing. Graphically it pales in comparison, but it's the same with a lot of Eastern titles. Most of them have poor graphics.

4 was good, 5 was a step down and pants. 6 was a step up from 5 but not as good as 4. So in the last 3 years they've gone downhill, thats just pitiful. Couple that with the abomination that was the 360 version of PES 6 and Konami are lazy ***** who have a lot to answer for. I know EA's next gen releases haven't been good but atleast the improve with each game.

downloading Fifa08 demo on ps3 now. Even as an ardent PES fan ill give it a fair go.

EA getting praise for churning out the same dire franchises every year? seen it all now

Fifa will always be a 2nd best to Pro Evo, EA just dont understand football. Pro Evo 6 is better than this demo.

Also, Pro Evolution was at its pinnacle back at Pro Evolution Soccer 2, they bettered a few things for 3 but some things got worse. It was much the same for 4. Pro Evolution Soccer 5 was a step backwards and Next-Gen Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is a leap backwards from other versions of it.

Meanwhile Fifa 07 was a lot better than Fifa 06 and Fifa 08 is a million miles superior to Fifa 07.

I've said it many times over the last couple of years, EA are catching up very, very quickly and Konami are letting Pro Evolution Soccer get stagnant and predictable. There is no shine or pizzazz, and the gameplay NEEDS to get better because Pro Evolution Soccer 6 was pretty poor on the Xbox360.

They used to no doubt, but you can hardly accuse them of that now. Each year has attempted to improved the series. Especially with the right stick controls they're using in stuff like Fight night, NHL and skate.

Go on all you like, Pro Evo has never churned out the same crap, ok all games might not have been perfect but they were the best football game of its time. EA have had how many attempts? and this one while better is still lacking, passing is too slow, tackling is not good enough, turning is like turning a bus, while its better still not reaching the levels set by Konami.

Konami pretty much has the basics of football done, dont really see how they can change that, thats the game, what should they add? some flying kicks? or spaceships? Football is Football, Konami still does it best.

5 and 6 were almost identical and both poorer than 4, which was slightly better than 3, but not as much fun as 2.

I suppose you could say they don't churn out the same crap, they seem to get worse. Fifa however has come on leaps and bounds in the last 4 years to really close the gap.

Right stick has been in FN for ages aint it, and it does not really work well at all in NHL just a gimmick really does not add to the gameplay at all IMO. Could say they have gone backwards with Tiger Woods having a 3 click system then?

Basics of football?

They don't even have a correct offside trap for a start.
How about removing the massively on rails effect?
Why do so many games seem to play the same?

Maybe cause you play the same way?

Every game is different to me on Live, try changing the way you play, not the game.
