Nope. If you play against the A.I. it's almost always the same moves, there's no feeling at all of randomness.

Nope. If you play against the A.I. it's almost always the same moves, there's no feeling at all of randomness.
No idea prefer to play real people not the AI, but its a computer, FIFA AI is just as much on rails as seen from the demo, same moves, same ways to beat them, never going to change is it.

Theres a lot of stuff they need to fix in pro evo, aerial play is shocking, the referee is horendously biased to the computer, the whole fouling system is very questionable, the a.i. of both the opposing team and your own team mates is rubbish, players dont make runs properly. The vast majority of goals seem to be of the sprint down the line, pull back to a striker variety.

They need to drop the scripting/rubber band for PES before I can play it again for any length of time with my mates.
I don't understand why people think the players in this are slow to react I actually find the individual movement wonderfully responsive on both 07 and 08 its one of the things it has over PES.

Actually, you're wrong. The feeling of Fifa is immediately less scripted than PES.
You may prefer to play online, but the majority will mainly play A.I.
Also, Konami really need someone to come in and make a good online lobby etc.. because the one from PES6 is a ******* disgrace.
Ariel play is fine for me, maybe your just not good enough at it? Should not be easy, but if you deliver a pinpoint cross then its easy enough, what's so wrong with it?
And you can quite easily control where your AI players go and run with the options in your formation, so again thats maybe just your oversight and not really the games problem, my players seem to be where I place them and attack and defend as requested they do so, plus the left trigger sets them off on a run etc, seems you have not dug deep enough into Pro Evo to master it.
How can I be wrong? That's the way it feels to me, who are you to tell me how I should think about a game? Go play 10 games of Fifa, Man u v Barca, its as scripted as any Pro Evo, the AI only reacts to your play, go stand on your 18 yard line with the ball, don't move, see what the AI does every time, but your telling me it's not scripted?
What more do you want from a lobby, create game, join game, simple enough, that's all I want to do, play the game. Much better than "You could not connect to the EA servers, try again later" alternative IMO.
Never used it to be honest, I always played friends or quick match ranked. I prefered the randomness. Instead of having the highly ranked players only wanting to play the newbs like you get with 2k7 game lobbies.
Strange, I've always found FIFA games, including this update, to feel slugglish. PES games have always felt much more responsive to me.
I quite like the fact that the game uses a fully realiss which is on the rails in that sense. Its definitely catching pes up which is a good thied physics engine for the ball, makes it far more realistic than peng because it will put pressure on konami to actually make the necessary changes that they've neglected to do due to the lack of competition. Pes 5 & 6 were really a step down from 4 and nearly identical to each other which was not a bad thing in some respects but seriously for a next gen title the least they could do is concentrate some effort on making it look like it...I cant be the only one to echo this sentiment. I for one will probably get both as I can get Fifa 08 dirt cheap (£5) as my uncle works for EA which means Ill have enough left to get pes2008 (after halo 3

Players dont jostle for the ball when it comes into the box as much in PES, also players dont seem to keep up with the play as well. Also the player switching is crap in PES, if the ball comes into the box and just go's over the head of the player your controlling then it doesn't switch to the player behind him quick enough, normally resulting in the ball bouncing off that player.
I dont mean runs like that, say if you have the ball, its a 2 on 1 situation and you are running towards the defender who is marking the other player, instead of making a diaganol run to either drag the defender away or open up some space the player often just stands there and waits for you to run past him. I've been playing PES for years so me not understanding the game is a pretty flimsy argument.

See plenty of jostling for the ball in Pro Evo, not quite sure you have even played it with the comments you are making? Player switching is as quick as YOU press the button, its instant, maybe you don't have it on manual switching or something?
Not quite sure what you mean about the 2 on 1 can't say I have ever noticed that, but you ain't gonna change my mind, Pro Evo 6 is still better than Fifa 08, enjoy your game

Sorry but is there any reason for your fruitless attempts at trying to impose your own opinion on us? We get it, your a die hard pes fan who cant see past his blinding love for a series that has clearly stagnated due to a lack of competition whilst starting with last years 07 fifa iteration on the 360 EA are making a concerted effort to improve their game. Granted a lot more improvement was needed on the fifa gameplay but at least they are improving unlike pes. I shall be getting both as I said in my previous post and Im really hoping that Konami will step up to the plate with 2008 and really hit the sweet spot as they did back in Pes 4. Now...if only they would overhaul the ruddy game engine...

I'm not dictating opinions. I am merely stating that the Fifa 2008 engine is a lot more free and away from rails than that of the Pro Evo engine. So how it can be more on rails is beyond me.
That's your opinion, I do not agree with that, and you have to respect that really, does not make me wrong, just makes me think differently than you.
