I recently purchased a 2900 and finally put it into my system today. Well went well or so I thought lol. In games now, I get slight texture errors and games like BF2142 just go back to the desktop when I try to bring up the server list or go into the audio options. Ive tried the 7.8 and 7.9 drivers, but nothings changed.

I did the artifact scan with Ati tool and it seemed ok, then I tried it again like 3 hrs later and got artifacts straight away. I even tried another GPU test program and got no errors with that. If anyone has any input on this, it'd be most welcome!

*Edit* Also nothing has been overclocked and the rest of my system is:
Q6600
2gb PC6400 Crucial Ballistix
Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
Corsair 520W

nwn texture glitch:

The screenshot looks strange, to me it looks more like a driver glitch than any sort of artifacting. Im really not sure if that psu is pto running a 2900 in that system config to be honest.

PSU calculator suggests around a 750 for that sytem.

try unhooking the power from your dvd drive (or drives) and see if theres any artifacting then.

That psu is more than sufficient for that system as im running my system off the same one without a hitch. Sounds like a driver issue rather than a card issue did you install a fresh copy of windows on this new system?

Yes, it was a fresh copy of Windows. Ive been through driver versions 7.7 to 7.9 now and its all the same.

I cant seem to get a program that will show me the GPU temp too, everest wont pick it up and neither will ATI tool.

PSU Calculators are rubbish.

The HX520W will be coping fine in that system.

When the 2900 is concerned it can be borderline, many reviews have suggested at least a 550 to 600 watt for the 512mb varient, im assuming the 1gig takes up a litle bit more power.

People are running these 2900's off Hiper Type-R's fine, people are running quad core setups and 2900's with the HX520W, the PSU Calculators say you need way more power than you really do need.

Temps seem fine, it ran through 3Dmark06 and scored 11k, I guess thats ok. I guess it may be down to drivers or something then..
