I'm just in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Was just waiting at a junction for a gap, there was a car coming from my right, and another from the left. The car on my left decided to try and cut infront of the car on my right but there simply wasn't space and he hit the car on the right, which then pushed him into me.

The car that caused the crash then just wheelspun down the road and left both me and some other poor guy in an Escort with mangled cars.

Police were there within 2 mins and took all the details, I got breathalysed and all the usual stuff but I'm just annoyed that I'm gonna have to fork out for the repairs as I doubt they'll catch the guy and due to the way he sped off I seriously doubt he was insured anyway.

(it's just the MGF by the way, thankfully not the Elise)

That truly does suck. Chin up with all the CCTV cameras on traffic lights etc, it should be so easy to get a reg number. But I suppose that's to much work. Here's hoping though.

hats the damage like?

Although it sucks it sounds like it might suck for the other victim more than you. You have a legitimate claim against his insurance becuase it was his car, not the guy who sped of, who hit your car.

Sorry to hear that, man- what a hole the guy was to just do a runner. Hate to say it, but probably not insured

Either that or a coward who wouldn't take responsibility for his own daft actions :(

Yes you will be claiming off the car that hit you NOT the car that caused the accident. SO at least you wont be out of pocket in the short term, the long term ( insurance ) might be affected though

Have you seen how **** the quality of CCTV on traffic light cameras is?

We got some for when someone drove into the side of my mum's car and it only recorded one image every three seconds. The quality was so bad you'd have a job to tell a C class from a 7 series.

Nope, never seen them, that's stupid why bother using them.

Sorry to hear this eidolon. Was this in Bristol, if so where abouts and what car was involved in the crash, the one that sped off? I will keep an eye out if so, gotta be worth a go at least!

Tesla, it was in St. George, just up from the fountain. The car that caused it was a blue Escort Cabriolet, Mk5 I think (J/K reg type ones). He'll be in a pretty bad way now as both sides of his car were involved, one side hit me, the other hit the other car.

There probably aren't that many blue Escort cabriolets around so maybe the police will investigate further, who knows?

Sucks eh? Same thing happened to me, had one car written off by a numpty then less than 6 months later someone else drove into me :(
