ocing my crysis rig

hey cob thanks for your help you have got me to 3ghz without it hanging or anytyhing. maybe speaking too soon but thanks anyway

ok its been running for like 40 mins now no probs at all. i know its no 8 hours but i wanna play a game on my new gtx.....thanks for all your help guys.

ps cob whats my next step in making this thing faster?

brill thats good to hear. i want too see what these 5300 ballistix can do. i heard good things about them

They're stuff of legend. 3-3-3-8 to about 760mhz, 4-4-4-12 to ~1000mhz, and 5-5-5-15 to over 1200mhz.

Tho tbh i would run them at 1:1 and try to tighten the timings as much as possible rather than trying to clock them to the sky.

It should be as easy as raising the FSB until it needs more vcore, then raising the FSB again until it needs more vcore. Repeat and rinse.

ok i went for 3.2 upped the voltage 1.35 it wasnt happening, failed prime after 12mins. uguru shows not 1.35v it shows something like 1.26-1.29v. i know why my temps go up like 3 degrees for a minute then drop again. ive noticed when uguru starts shows 1.26v the lowest v, the temps go up. i would have thought it lowers temps. when the volts go back to 1.28 the temps go down.

at the moment im on 1.4-1.41v in uguru which is 1.4975 in bios and running at 3.4ghz prime has been stable for over 40mins. however my pwm temps are at 90c. cores are at 61. im going to do the chipset heatsink mod on it some time in the near future. i think im going to clock it down to 3 stock volts until i can get the pwm heatsink sorted.....

Hot PWN's are sadly a by-product of watercooling. They need some sort of airflow tbh.

Uguru shows a lower vcore than what is set in BIOS due to vdroop, so it's normal. Mine is set to 1.53125 in BIOS but drops to 1.45-1.47v under load in Windows.

well i figured i may need my chipset cooling so i put a 80mm fan between the pipes.

its directed at the northbridge and rear of gtx. maybe ii should direct it too the pwms.

The P35 northbridges shouldn't be too bad, tho that hasn't stopped me watercooling mine (it's currently sitting at 34c under full load).

Yeah but they're pretty rare for newer boards. Better trying to get a small fan over the heatsink.
