V amp2 or POD 2

I'm not! dm i know your now mr Line 6 fanboy but really they are a load of utter cack...

both are pretty poor but the line6 is measurably poorer... they be the facts i'm afriad!

I would never use Line 6 on stage and have always deterred people to do so but in a studio enviroment they are the dogs.
Judging by the amount of session musicians and even people like Steve Howe who are using Line 6 products then that speaks volumes.

A couple of weeks ago I lent him a Variax and POD which he sneered at.
Within seconds he'd nailed the sounds of SRV, Hendrix and Blackmore to his disgust.

I'm just going to be using it to plug into the schools Roland cab. because I'm not lugging around my 1/2 stack for lunch time practices.

If you can plump the extra for a PODXT and that'll be tonnes better.

Either will be fine for casual practise though, but from personal experience i'd say just go fo r the POD.

you make good points there but I'm really not convinced by Line 6 sounds studio or otherwise - Maybe i've just heard it used by idiots? It's one of the most artificial and dead sounding boxes I've ever heard, and this is true for their whole range, especially those AWFUL Spider series amps....

Behringer on the other hand are a budget company, no way around this. They make sound TERRIBLE TERRIBLE products that sound garbage. However, there inexplicably have some utter gems in their product range - the Virtualizer being one of them. I'm not too sure on this box, I've heard it's not too bad though and better than Line6...

I'd also consider a Zoom G2 It models:

Fender Twin Reverb 65, VOX AC30/6TB, Roland Jazz Chorus, Marshall JCM800, Fender Tweed Deluxe 53, Mesa Boogie Mark III, Marshall JCM2000, Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, Peavey 5150 Stack, Boss OD-1 Overdrive Pedal, Marshall Guv'nor Overdrive Pedal, Matchless Hot Box, Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face Pedal, Boss MT-2 Distortion Pedal, Zoom Extreme Distortion, and Zoom Digital Fuzz. All are editable via three rotary knobs controlling three different parameters at the same time, and delay time and modulation rate are controllable via the Tap key input. And more besides.

Some good, some not so great but you will certainly find a few sounds that you like.

I have the G2.1u with the foot pedal and it sounds decent to me, although I'm getting shut of it soon becuse I've discovered Amplitube and Guitar rig and My BOSS unit has a more intuitive interface. I have more pedals than I can reasonably use (some would argue that I shouldn't have any...or any guitars for that matter:D)
