"The Sunday Mirror discovers Tesco is selling Christmas food with a sell-by date before 25 December.

In one London store, mince pies have to be eaten before 11 October, but a Tesco spokesman reminds the paper: "Seasonal food isn't just for Christmas."

Poor excuse, I wonder if they would try to sell easter eggs with sell by date before easter. ;)

its a mince pie, its not a christmas cake. who gives a smeg what the sell by date is? you buy a christmas cake for christmas, you buy a mince buy either for christmas or to scoff down there and then:p

Mince pies - laverrly! I prefer them in the run up months. By the time Christmas has come, Im sick of them!

Interestingly enough, mince pies have also been the most successful bait I have used in catching mice!

Mince pies are minging. In fact they should be done under the trade descriptions act because they dont actually have any MINCE in them. :D

They dont sell Creme eggs all year around at all!

and Tescos are selling mince pies already!?, i know where im going to visit this afternoon.

Sainsbury's also have Minced pies - Taste The Difference i might add - THE BEST which they have had in store since june 2007 :)

I have no problem anytime of the year buying creme eggs. I can easily go to my local tesco's and buy one whenever I like. They must buy a years worth of stock. My wife loves them and regularly buys them anythime of the year.
