Everyone slating Arsenal pre-season

heheh I'm over the moon, I said that when Henry went Arsenal would pull together as a team and rely not on channeling the ball through Henry but through anyone that can put the ball in the back of the net ;)

I see the cream has already risen to the top in the Premiership, Arsenal, Liverpool, ManU and Chelsea. Gota feel sorry for Martin Jol though he's a nice bloke and can do a lot for Spurs given the chance but I get the feeling his days as manager are numbered...

Yeap - that was our biggest problem. Echoed my sentiments exactly.

It's very very pleasing to find that another first team player can pop up and slot it home when another is having a bad day. For example Cesc and V Persie respectively.

i don't recall anybody slating Arsenal

Neither do i:p

i must admit im extremely impressed with Arsenal this season, the tema looks more complete than it did last season. I do admit to being a bit wary about our chances after Henry left but im now thinking and saying...HENRY who??:p.

Fabregas has been a godsend, 5 goals already..surpassed last seasons goal tally of his already.

Wenger has mentioned a few times this season that this team is very differnt to last season..they fight, fight and fight till they get a result. No longer are they relying on one sole person ie Henry. Looks like the Post Henry Arsenal are doing very well.

Watched the highlights of the game between spurs and Arsenal on MOTD earlier tonight and Fabregas's goal was stunning but Adebayors 2nd goal was simply superb...what a goal. Someone in the spoilers thread was having a dig at Adebayor but i think hes doing alright....i dont know about Da Silva..he as of yet hasnt impressed me but hopefully he will startt settling in.

Personally if i was Wenger, id take the captains armband off Gallas and give it to Fabregas, i think hes shwon this season that hes more than capable to be a captain and rightly should be imho. Gallas is good no doubt about it but thats dependant on if hes fit..otherwise he spends most of his time moaning and whining. But its a matter of time before Fabregas is made captain...for a 20 yr old kid hes simply awesome.

BTW thankls you Chelsea and Liverpool for dropping points today....every little helps;):p

Why should Fabregas be made captain when Toure and Giblet are far better options, yes Cesc is one of our best players but that doesn't make him good captain material, e.g. Henry. Also i don't recall many if any people slating us, certainly there were a large amount saying we'd drop out the top 4 but i think we've knocked disproved that now ;).

Almost all the media was slating us.. saying spurs would pip 4th and we would end up 5th/6th.. i've been extremly impressed with our start to the season i think i heard of ssn that it was the firsdt time we have been top since oct 2004!

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet, Arsenal are yet to play any of their main title rivals.

One thing I would say however is that a glance at the League table suggests that the media/public suggestion that this season was a lot more open than previous ones may have been a little premature. Already after only 5.5 games TB4 are at the top of the table.

Don't get carried away yet, as pointed out, we haven't paid any of our main rivals yet and we've only just started the season.

Cesc is looking brilliant at the moment and with his goal scoring coming on leaps and bounds, I wouldn't swap him for anyone.

granted we have not played any of the big 4 but im not too worried.. i think our big test will happen when we lose players for the ACN. Can our squad cope? with one or 2 injuries maybe?

One of your best?
One of!??

He IS your best player and one of the best players in the world too. Though Kolo isn't too far behind.

I don't think that many people were slating Arsenal. I know I made a few comments of how they'd struggle if they lost Wenger and Fabregas, but they didn't so they won't :)

A couple of weeks ago it was Liverpool who were going to win the premiership, now its Arsenal. It's best to wait till towards Xmas before we get a good idea of things really.

Nah, Cesc has the potential to be frightening in a few years, but he's still got a bit of growing to do (in more ways than one).

Kolo remains in my opinion the best CB in the Premier League. I still can't believe how he stopped a dead certain goal yesterday against Berbatov (who off topic continues to annoy me that he isn't playing for a Champion's League side).

All I'm going to say about this season is I think instead of the usual 2 horse race, we'll see 3 or even 4 teams still fighting for the title at a later stage of the season.
