Planning on ordering a new system on Monday but at the moment I'm not 100% sure on the Motherboard.

I'll either get an E6750 or Q6600 (95w), so if I go for the 6750 I understand I'll need a P35 board due to the 1333mhz fsb.

I'll also need at least 6 Sata ports since I have 5 hard drives and I plan on getting a sata Samsung DVD burner, unless there is a good similar spec ide drive out there.

At the moment I like the sound of the P35 Gigabyte DS3P, is that a good option?

Very good option, just make sure it's the P35C board, as that one is actually cheaper than the DDR3 one which is the P35 and doesn't support DDR2, however the P35C supports both and is £6 cheaper (weird huh? :)). Other boards you can look at is the Abit IP35 (lower model of it here, but only has 4 sata ports). I would have also suggested taking a look at the Asus P5K (lower model of that here), but from what I can see both models of that board only have 4 SATA ports.

Are you sure the DS3P is a DDR3 board, all the specs I can see say it is a DDR2 board supporting 1066/533/667/800?

That ABIT board sounds pretty good too and is slightly cheaper.

Ah ok, the P is still a good board though yeah?
Yeah, it's higher up the chain. Whilst probably the same motherboard in most cases it has more features.

DQ6 > DS4 > DS3P > DS3R > DS3 > S3

"P35T" means DDR3 only
"P35C" means DDR2 and DDR3
"P35" means DDR2 only

If you were interested :P

My DS3R is pretty nice, I imagine if the DS3P is further up the chain it'll be slightly nicer. From what I can gather, all of the latest Gigabyte boards are pretty solid.
