Anyone know what's gong on this weekend? We've seen bucketloads of Caterfields milling about in different parts of the country at different times going in different directions. They're obviously all out for a reason but they don't seem to be going to the same place.

Our Westfield was out last Weekend for Eurofest @ Castle Combe (aswell as being European cars it was specialy about 50yrs of the Lotus 7) - we got into a 'Caterham Club' track session & owned them all .

But ours won't be out this weekend as by the third track session @ Eurofest, an intermittent gearbox problem became worse (downshift from 5th to 4th then 4th to 3rd for a corner, then while in the corner the engine is on overrun {no load} and it pops into neutral:rolleyes:)

It is the "50 years of the Lotus/Caterham 7" celebration at the Norfolk show ground
over the weekend. I have never seen so many in one place before. It is rare I see
another one on the road !

cheers

well that explains everything, the pub i was in is only 1 mile away and one of the closest hotels to the show ground :D

When we saw lots in Nuneaton too we wondered if it was a countrywide thing, but obviously we were just on the same road as a lot of them!

There were a few staying at the hotel where I work too so we should have known that it was something round here really.

Saw a tonne of them on Friday coming back up from school with parents, just by the Norfolk show ground, awesome little cars!

They are not all that heavy, for example an LS1 is 175kg, a Ford Zetec is 120kg. Slightly heavier in the front end, but the performance advantage will be epic.

Remember, they said the same when the Shelby Cobra came out...

about as much as a sexy girl riding shotgun, the extra torque/power will easily propel the extra weight, and I'm sure the chassis can be altered to counteract the extra understeer.

Unless your sexy girl is planning on sitting on the front bumper then no, it's not the same :D
