Hi i'm after the most powerful UV cathodes around, which make is the best? I've had some random ones off the bay and they were preety poor.

I have some sharkoon UV's, and they are not at all bright in comparison with other's i've seen, AC ryan are going to get some of my custom rather soon :)

Im after a UV cathode as well, But after going through several im starting to get a little annoyed with the quality of these products.

They are more purple than UV. Im after ones that will emit MAINLY UV. And no i havnt come across them yet.

well I've used pretty much every one under the sun. they are all the same really, except the REALLY cheap ones, which emit more of a white / purple light . . . which looks really nice actually but not if your after UV

If i had to put my finger on the best, i would say sharkoon for several reasons.

The plastic tubes they are made from are thicker and stronger than the others so are hard to accidentally snap or damage.
You can get them in a pack of 4 :)

but, as i said the UV ones in terms of 'strongest' are all much of a muchness. to gain better results, it is all about where you position them. that has a bigger effect than a 'more powerful' cathode. and also think about what your actually wanting to react int he UV lights? is there enough of it? is it the right colour to glow? ( i.e green and orange glow like hell! )

UV reactive liquid (feser1.. blue..) and cables :D (it seems the placement of the cathodes has to be right next to the liquid to get a descent effect...

Your going to have a hard time getting blue to glow really well

the best dye is alpha cool dye, but it is like rocky horse... rocks :P
( it comes in a small frosted square bottle, with a red top and lots of German writing on. it isn't branded as alphacool though )

and even that doesn't last very long.

To be honest, photographs of UV'd PC's look great, but they never look like that in real life.

which feser dye are you using? revealing, or dark blue?, as for the cables, forget the blue UV IDE and floppy cables, get purple ones... they glow BLUE! great stuff :D

aah, i have the dark blue dye, i didn't like the look of the clear liquid which turned blue (during the day anyway.. i'm fussy;)) and i believe the cables i have are akasa sata cables, and yes, they were stated blue, and just don't react at all :(

If you are using Tygon it restricts UV, try another brand such as Masterclear.

It is Tygon.. d'oh
