well, actually you probably arent far from the truth, my last TV (the one i got rid of) was second hand when my grandma and grandad gave it to me, i've had it for about 4 years, and they had it for about 6.
Find a cheap second hand TV, big enough to stuff into your wardrobe.
When you want to watch something, dig it out. Just put it back, when you're finished watching the program.
I did the above when I was single, and the TV licensing came knocking. Naturally I gave the lady a tour round the entire property - with the TV tucked safely away.
I barely watch tv these days, and my own tv has been sat on the floor in the same place since i left uni earlier this year. Wouldn't want to be totally without tv though, wouldn't be able to watch the motorsport
I very rarely watch the TV, for the exact reasons you dont watch it. Just watch a few shows on channel and e4 (the only channels worth watching imo) and thats it. Rest is absolute carp.
From 2000-2006 my Monitor was a lot bigger than my TV so it got very little viewing aside from football. However now living with my partner and a bigger screen I watch a lot more telly. e.g. tonight I watched 3 hours of Dragons Den on UKTV G2.
