Bladerunner - The Final Cut - Pre Orders

As some of you may know, at the beginning of December this year Bladerunner - The Final Cut is being released.
Personally, as far as I'm concerned this is the DVD event of the year and I cannot wait to get my hands on this.

You can get the 2 DVD version at £9.99 delivered - Impressive price for a release day film.
The 5 DVD version is available at £17.99 delivered - This is the set that includes the new Final Cut along with the Original U.S. Theatrical Cut (never before available in the UK); the Expanded International Theatrical Cut; and the 1992 Director's Cut.

The 3rd of December cannot come soon enough for me.

On second thoughts I think I will edit out where I have seen these prices as I think maybe they are competition.

Got the 5 disc HD-DVD version pre-ordered. £20 which is a bargain for five different versions in HD glory. The workprint version is the one I can't wait to see. Will be good to see Ridley's proper cut as well.
 
I'd definitely agree on this being the DVD event of the year. I'd say it's the biggest in DVD's history too. The single most influential science fiction movie of all time.
 
i have the special edition (briefcase) on HD-DVD ordered as well as transformers can't wait for both. At least I get transformers next month and hopefully will have my new 1080P TV by then as well.

This is an awesome film and can't wait to see what the other editions look like. I have only ever seen the directors cut so it will be nice to see the other variations.
 
I was initially tempted by the briefcase edition - although hassle getting it imported from the US.
However the boxed 5 disc version will fit on the shelf a hell of a lot easier.
It's also cheaper and I think I can live without a model of a spinner.

Quick question though - does the briefcase version come with the "Workprint Version" of the film as well?
I'd heard rumour that although the US special edition case comes with the models it isn't going to contain the "Workprint Version" - which is something I do want to see.

not sure where you heard this but the specs that got released confirmed that both the 5 disc and briefcase versions have the same content on the discs.

try here for a lot less trouble importing the breifcase which does contain the work print DVD

The Heroes job is to chase after androids whom hide among the population of the city. Like all good future cities its full of homeless and poor people and tons of dark polluted areas. :p ;)

Ok we get that you like it... but thats a little far fetched. I'd say Starwars was more influential, fast forward a couple of decades and The Matrix is again more influential (considering that bullet time is probably in almost all films and some TV series since).

Actually, its not far fetched at all. Both Alien and Blade Runner (both Ridley Scott movies) set the tone and look of many other Sci-Fi movies, TV shows, and even computer games. If you do a bit of reading around the subject matter you will see that many film critics and generally experts in the film genre will agree at how influential the look and feel of Blade Runner was.
