If the generator is noisey, move it further away?

You could also construct a wooden box to put over it, making sure for air inlet/exhaust.

If possible move the generator further away, every 1M equals 3dB reduction. Also put the generator on grass.

At 1 meter it's certainly not going to be half as loud, which is how the dB scale works.

Every doubling in distance is a 3dB reduction in noise level i think. It's been a very long time since I did noise engineering though. A 3dB reduction constituting a halving in sound energy.
