I'm going on holiday to Florida this Saturday for 2 weeks.. and were flyign with Travel City Direct..

Has anyone flown with these before? Ive read mixed reviews from them..

Some say they always delay for 24hrs or more at a time and the service / general flight is poor but others cant praise them enough.. so has anyone flown with them and if so what're they like?

TIA

We flew with them in August, and I've got to say, they were utter crap.

Flight out, we got stuck next the toilets, on both sides. Flight back and we were so far away from the TV you could barely tell it was there. Plus, the seats were really tall so you had to sit bolt upright to see over the next one. Not comfortable at all.

The only good thing was we could check-in the morning before we flew home at some office as theirs, leave our luggage, and just go straight through security when we got to the airport. Saved a lot of queueing and what not.

if you're flying home from Sandford, I recommend the Sandford lounge. Its something like a fiver per person, but you get free drinks, really comfy sofas/armchairs, and theres free arcade machines, free internet/wireless and a bunch of TVs with different stuff on.

Well i guess its a means to an end so to speak..im praying theres no delays, and am glad we booked accommodation and everything else seperately now

We didn't have any delays, and I think someone else would confirm that delays aren't usually the airlines fault.

Our accomodation (disney) and everything else was fine, although we had to queue a long time for the car, as TCD only use Dollar. Imagine a jumbo jet full of people, all queueing to get their cars.

The company on the whole were fine, and staff were very helpful, just the flights were crap.

Oh, and if you're needing a drink on the plane, don't wait for them, as they takes ages to come round. I just went up and asked someone any time I wanted one.

Thanks for the help :)

Is it true the planes are very old and battered? Im quite apprehensive about this flight, as im sure you can tell :p

The one we flew out on was pretty old I think, as it had ash trays in the toilets and looked a little dated inside. They'd obviously had some upgrades though, as the TV was a projector one, which by the way was impossible to see in day light :)

Just be glad you're not doing anything further than florida :)

They are a cheap transatlantic airline, you get what you pay for.

We flew with them a couple of years back to florida, we didnt get off to a great start when the panel above my head (and that of 4 other rows) actually came off the cabin ceiling exposing wires and allsorts of other gubbins! Food was ok, nothing to write home about, leg room wasnt a problem, basically it was just a cheap seat to get me to america, and thats it. Sorry to probably put a downer on it all dude, just telling you my experences.

Going florida again in less than a fortnight, avoiding using them again! (Not sure who we fly with this year, been a bit ignorant towards holiday plans)

Tbh i prefer to know what to expect with things like this, im not bothered about anything except delays really, and obviously getting there.

Thanks for your opinions and info guys, appreciate it :)

Yeah you might/probabaly be going on a 747.. but an older version.. so inside it'll probabaly be falling to bits :D and theyve proabably been to airline to airline so yeah.. but nothing to do with the systems + saftey.. dont worry :P Never flown with them but from the comments above.. I may be right!
