after realising she hadn't given me anything for 2 years, my grandmother has generously decided to give me £1000, which i think should be spent repacing my 5 year old (failing) current desktop.

having been out of the loop for so long, i'm not really sure whats good and whats not. back when i was PC mad, Athlon64s were king, and everyone was going mad about winchester core A64s. my how time has changed.

Anyway, i'd be much appreciative if you could help me out.

Oh yes, i don't need screens or a keyboard, and i would like an Antec P180 (black) and a Logitech G7

<edit>
no wireless is required, i use good Old fashioned CAT6

I'm afraid you are out of luck on the G7 front since it isn't currently being produced, the P180 has been superceded by the P182 although you can at least still purchase the P180 if you really wanted to and do you perhaps mean cat5 cable?

This is pretty much bang on the budget although note that if you are using a 32bit OS that you will only be able to access about 3.5gb of the Ram. :)

That ^^ should last you another 5-years :) Hope you'll be gaming, otherwise its overkill.

Also, don't need a screen? Would be a shame to waste that 8800GTX on anything less than 20" :(
