Anyone waiting for the transfer cable?

Doh, you'll have to forgive me but I knew that the 120gb drive was formatted during the transfer process :o. I had read before when the US Elite was released that you loose whatever content is on the 120gb drive when migrating from the 20gb.

Apparantly the Elite's 120gb drive includes the same items as the 20gb Premium (haven't fired up our Elite yet so haven't checked this). The retail 120gb drive includes more content that when it is bundled with the 360.
 
Grrr this is taking the wizz now. 3 weeks and still no cable. I bet a faulty 360 wouldnt take this long to get back to me.
 
Ive given up on waiting for this cable, bought 512mb memory card yesturday from Bluewater and transfered my saves over that way and recovered my gamer tag.
So far all seems to have gone well, traded the old 360 in and got £140.00 in cash back.

well i rang MS about my transfer kit yesterday and they informed me that they had been out of stock but people who ordered the cable not long after release should start receiving them this week. They apparently have a huge order of these cables arriving next monday so those that are waiting to do the trade in should be fine.

It's going to be close. I would prefer not to have to buy a memory card although I might end up doing so.
 
A memory card is no good for a 100% transfer, as many games won't let you move the save game file over to a memory card.

I hope mine comes soon. I've got a buyer lined up for my old 360, but i can't sell it without the 20GB HDD.

When mine comes I will be happy to send it out to anyone and pay the postage so long as they send it on to the next person. It's called being a good person.
 
not getting into a squabble - its now withdrawn. With all due respect you are all fellow forum users - but i dont even know one of you personally - so 5quid was fair IMO.
 
Wrong. Cable was free, therefore sending it out free (or having postage paid) was the right thing to do. It's a good community and it's something a lot of users would do for other people (whether or not we'd met them in the past).
 
Sure giving it out for free would have been a generous and lovely thing for Oliet_No1 to do, but really, asking for a £5 is hardly a dastardly thing to do, as he says they are going for ~£20 on eBay and he could have just done that, so I think asking £5 for it was actually quite a sound thing to do.

I would have taken it Oliet_No1, but I am a lazy bugger and I am just waiting for my mates to turn up, hopefully tomorrow :p
 
I see no problem asking a fiver for it, some people are too lazy to contact MS for one and would easy pay £5 to have one shipped asap.
