I've got an older PC7 (2X80mm front/1X80mm rear/No top fan) that houses my current rig. I'm thinking of upgrading to a C2D with an 8800GTS. Do the newer 120mm PC7's privide anymore cooling compared to the 80mm versions?

I'm not 100% sure I'll go with a Lian-Li but would like to know the above in case I do.

Cheers.

Could always mod your existing one, take about an hour or two.

This was my 6002 (even cheaper version of PC-7) they are identical to the 80mm version of the PC-7 internally.

Rear is a very tight fit against the I/O frame, almost don't need to fix it in place. The notches were to fit a wire guard internally but never did.

Front needed careful alignment to avoid the existing holes and cut-outs, and low enough to avoid the 3.5"frame.
Use some spacer blocks (~20mm piece of tubing) and the front USB ports are still usable.
I notched the USB bracket fixing holes to use the same screws to mount the fan.
The filter is still usable and covers most of the fan area.

Can't compare as I never even used it with the 80mm fans and I mounted a rad to the front and watercooled it.

This was how it ended up (socket A - going back a while!)

Generally though it's all dependant the fans used, at the same CFM the 120mm will be very much quieter.
