Playing Halo 3 Early? Byebye Xbox Live...

I just dont see why people cant just create a seperate offline account and use that anyway? Unless they are banning the consoles and not the Live accounts.

I cant see them banning them anyway its just cutting off their nose to spite their face to be honest. I mean they need all the customers they can get not lose them.

IP banning perhaps? Still I can't see this being a real claim... scare mongoring probably? Or just random BS...

So some random person buys Halo 3 not realising that it's been unnoficially released early and gets banned for it? It's hardly the consumers fault.

HIGHLY unlikely that happens!!
"Ooh sorry, I didn't know it's not out yet"

About as likely as
"Sorry sir, the cat pooped on my homework"

Person buys game from store and plays it... Gets banned.
That would be one of the weakest reasons for banning ever! Due to a stores stupidity the legitimate customers get banned?
Can't see it happening and if it did then it's another reason to just give up actually buying games.

Totally fair imo.

Whats not fair, is the rest of us have to wait until release, but if that means not getting banned then so be it.

I think a few people just got HALOWNED!

I would imagine this is to restrict the pirates from playing.

I think if you have proof of purchase then it will be hard for MS to legally keep you off LIVE It will be a hassle to get your account re-instated, but if a retailer broke release date then your hardly to blame for purchasing/receiving in the post the game and sticking it in your console.

As Alrik said, just create an offline profile.

I dont see anything in the T&C's of live threatening a ban for playing a game early, cant see MS doing it.

Guess we will find out next week.

lol, this is hilarious, so MS are upset that they cannot stop people playing orginals early or backups on line so they just ban anyone with the game.

Nice move MS - i'll give them credit for alienating their customers though. This thread is worth 10stars, lol

Sounds like rubbish to me.

There are very legimate reasons for people to have the game such as reviewers... they aren't going to ban everyone as they ban them too!

You believe it?

As already said the shops that are found to sell it early are the ones MS will target not the customer.

How is it fair? How is it highly unlikely?

I've got lots of games on preorder... I can't remember every single release date of each one I have.

They turn up in the post, I pop them in my console or PC and play them... The first thing I definitely don't do when I get a game in the mail is think:

"Hmm... now I wonder if this is actually released yet, I'm not sure! Better leave it a week just to be safe!"

You're missing the point, anyone who knows the correct release date could innocently go into a shop, see it on sale and think 'omg it's been released early wtf!?' I'm getting it yes! etc etc... They don't know the shop has been naughty and released early.

Or as I've said, the order it online and it arrives sometimes up to a week early.

And like I said in my previous post, if they've got a lot of games on preorder then your hardly going to remember the release date of every game you've got on order...

Pretty much echoing what you said, but in a different matter...

Actually I don't know why I made this post anyway, since I said it two posts ago :o
