Bit late in the day really (literally, one hour left). But none the less, it was 37 years today since Mr. Hendrix bought the farm, so here's a bit of respect :). R.I.P dude!.

Was listening to Electric Ladyland earlier today.
Fantastic album.

Can't believe it was that long ago... 8 years before I was born..

I was at my mates last night watching Jimi Hendrix (Deluxe Edition 1973) on DVD and I didnt even know.

Best player ever imo. :(

RIP

Easily one of the most inspirational guitars ever in the history of the instrument. He had such an unhappy life as well. :( I hope he's still rockin' up in the stars. Here's to Jimi. :)

Hendrix was original and an innovator and one of the biggest reasons millions of people picked up a guitar.
Theres only been a handful of guitarists over the decades that immediately reached millions of kids who wanted to learn and thats a marvellous achievement.

I remember starting a thread on here called "Hendrix, he wasn't that good" and some arse ended up getting banned because he refused to read my opening post which was about a workmate saying that to me.

Haha, I remember that thread! :D

On another note, it's a bit out of the way but if you're ever in Seattle (see I told you), the Hendrix exhibition at the Experience Music Project is worth the admission alone.

One thing that angers me every time I think about it is 'Experience Hendrix'. Which is the organisation setup to exploit the memory of Jimi Hendrix. If any of you know anything about this company then you'll know what I'm talking about. Every single bit of merchandise that you can imagine, has been produced by this company with Hendrix's name/face on it. Some of the worst products (in my eyes) are the Hendrix energy drink, and the Hendrix golf balls. Oh wait, and even worse yet, the Hendrix golf ball marker. They did create a tour bus in memory of the great man, it was an exhibition in which people/musicians could go and pay their respects. But upon entering the bus, they were wholely disappointed as all that was there was a couple of his records, and a LOAD of Hendrix merchandise. Almost filling the bus if I remember correctly.

A bit of a rant, but it always upsets me. :(

It's the same with most dead artists, Kurt Cobain's legacy is still being trampled over by those in charge of it.
