There has been a few posts about Vista SP1 and what exactly will it contain.
New features, major new features are two such things that have been posted.
I've just had my official notification that I'll be on the beta test for SP1 and that e-mail I think sums up what SP1 is all about:
In addition to previously released updates, SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability and performance issues, supporting new types of hardware, and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also continues to improve upon the IT administration experience. SP1 is not intended to be a vehicle for releasing new features; however some existing components do gain enhanced functionality in SP1.
So sorry to all those that were expecting a host of new features etc.
What we're going to see is an already very reliable and overall good OS become stronger & faster.
I've had no problem with Vista64 since December last year - let us hope SP1 fixes a few of those gripes that some people have been unlucky enough to experience.
