HI,

Currently building a system but I'm really struggling to choose a mouse/keyboard combo.

Ive decided against a matching set for the usual reasons, either the mouse, or the keyboard isn't right in one way or another.

Total budget inc. keyboard is preferably £70ish but will stretch to £100 if needs be.....and the mouse must be wireless.

My usage is Internet and gaming mainly.

Ive always had microsoft mice as a rule, currenty have an intellimouse 2.0 which is old-ish, but I like it.
My friend is a logitech fan, but his mouse (cant remember which- also quite old) I dont really get on with....I do like the features/looks of the newer ones though.

I also like the Idea of ergonomic mice as I use them all day at work and want a mouse that wont give me any muscule problems.

edit....I would got for the MS8000 in a flash, but im relly starting to resent the horrible rubbery non-clicking scroll wheels they insist on having!

The 4 contenders are....

Logitech G7
Logitech MX revoluotion
Logitech MX1000 or simmilar
MS natural
MS 8000

Thanks for the reply...
I had a quick feel of the MX rev in a shop, and im very weary of it, it feels really good quality but at the same time a bit odd and gimmicky....dunno if id get used to it,
maybe id be better of with a more classic shape like the G7 or the 8000

I did look at that one, I remember now...but it has a wire......dont do wires on mice, keyboard yeh, but i hate wired mice, thanks for the suggestion though.

If you can still purchase the G7 new then it gets my vote, I've had one for a bit over a year now and it has been fantastic. I like the weight and shape, the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment and the fact that swapping battery packs takes seconds. However I'd still recommend you try before purchase as it might not fit your hand as comfortably as one of the others. :)

I have just replaced my MX1000 with an MX Revolution.
the MX1000 was very heavy compared to the revolution. You may think the revolution is gimmicky but it's feature set is excellent and after a few hours getting used to the mouse, i would strongly recommend it over the 1000. Not tried any of the other mice in your list so can't really comment on them.
Forget the revolution if your are left-handed though.

I agree with Marmoset, very comfortable and very light the MX Revolution is. If I go back to the MX1000 it feels like the weight of a brick.
Don't get me wrong the MX1000 is an awesome mouse, but I prefer the MX Revolution. It feels great!

I can't believe its a year now since the MX Revolution came out.

The 2007 G5 gets my vote, got mine as an rma from an mx510.. didn't even ask for me to return my old mouse :D

I like the feel of the MX Revolution, but because its sensor is lower quality than my MX1000 used to be, i cant bring myself to buy it. :(

Anyone heard much about the MS8000? I havnt seen any reviews or anything on it?

So the MX Revolution is even lighter than the MX1000. Wow, I thought the MX1000 was really light, or at least its a lot lighter than my Mx700.

Got a Revo at home and a MX1000 at work and I'm very tempted to buy another Revo. Don't think I can make the point much clearer ;)

MX1000 has a 1000dpi sensor.
MX range has a 800dpi sensor.

Enough said.
Fine on low res screens as it wont be noticable, but i use high res screens, and in games especially, lower dpi sensors are noticable.

I've got a 2405FPW ;)

You've got the settings completely wrong, a faulty mouse or a poorly matched surface if you can tell and you're not a high-end FPSer.

Hmm.
I do notice an aiming difference beween the two how it is. Prehaps im just sensative to precision?

Either way though, the facts remain that the MX1000 has the better sensor. :p.

I dont get what a high res screen has to do with your mouse
Its a dpi thing.
