Gave my new (to me) Mondeo a clean at the weekend and gave the tyres a check over: 2mm on both front, rear drivers side 3mm, rear passanger side 4mm.

I assume this means 4 x tyres in the not to near future? 1mm difference in the rear tyres indicate something I should look out for tracking / suspension wise (53 plate Mondeo Mistral)?

Seeing as I don't do a lot of motorway miles, what would recomendations be for not too expensive and reasonably long lasting tyres? Currently got Michelin Radial XSE tyres on, 205/55/R16/91V

Anyone had experience of those online tyre retailers?

Thanks in advance.

I find that ringing around say 10 local places often gives a massive saving over any online prices.

Never accept first price, they can always be bartered down. I got 20% of the tyres , then got them to the next tyre up in there range and then a free tyre change (a tyre moved from one rim to the spare wheel). You won't get such a good saving on branded tyres, but you can always get there price down.

Does the act of always going clockwise round roundabouts have an effect on things like tyre wear?

Depends how fast you take them, it does on my car.:o

Goodyear NCT5 205/55 R16 V, £49.20 a corner special offer at blackcircles.com. Decent enough tires?

-- EDIT -- seems the special offer doesn't include the fitting fees, £63.45 a corner normal price.
