New York for christmas?

Hello all,

I've thought about presenting the idea to my friends for going to New York for either Christmas and new years or Just after Christmas (Boxing Day) and New Years.

I was wondering what one would expect to pay for a return flight? and also where to stay?

Not sure on budgets but if people can recommend places with varying budgets /prices - all my friends are in full time work anyway.

Also if anyone can recommend things to do there during that time as well?

there are a few new york threads based around the xmas / new year period. some of them have some good info in :]

love the idea myself, will take the wife and my boy in a few years (when hes a touch older) :]
 
Sounds like a good idea :) I've never been there. I assume they're all single though? Don't think many people in a relationship would go away with friends at Christmas :)

Yeah all single, except me but the gf will be coming anyway :p

yeah, I've sparked a thread about it once or twice before, which naturally at the mentioning of the word lesbian the thread instantly became pages long with posts such as TTIWUP etc etc.
 
Flights will be about £250 return. The hotel costs though? that will scare you! You'll be lucky to find rooms at that time for under £150 a night.

I can imagine. What were the previous threads? I'm very nosey and am feeding baby so typing a minimum, ie not searching.
