Anyone else really not like quake wars

I also had high hopes for this game but after playing the MP beta some time ago I was left unimpressed. It's the inherent "quakey" feel to it that I didn't like. I didn't like how Quake 4 felt to play, and I'm no fan of this either.

Indeed. I pre ordered last night and played it till 4 in the morning, lol. So much fun.

I downloaded the demo and tried to give it chance after chance, but I just found myself bored of it after five or ten minutes every time. The Crysis multiplayer beta on the other hand has got me hooked, so I think that will be my new online shooter as I leave Battlefield 2 behind.

Yeh me too. All i am playing at the moment is two beta's! TF2 and crysis and they are both amazingly fun.

I wanted it to be sooo good, I had Beta 2 and the Demo and just thought what a pile of carp!

TF2 is where its at!

im disappointed too, but to be honest, 2142 is complete and utter ****.
BF2 to 2142 was a completely backwards step, its like a bad mod in my eyes.
Its not fun, its dull, unimaginative, poorly implemented concept..
Titans made me a bit excited, but god, they are rubbish.
QW is ok in my eyes at the moment, its just i dont really understand it yet heh.

ETQW is basically just W:ET with vehicles. It means there's less intense first person shooting and more mid-long range spam.

It's less 'fun' than BF vehicles in that you don't get an uber, undestroyable jet that will pwn the socks off the other team. Although this does take away the 15 min of runway camping and the getting TK'd for a seat.

The balance is A1 and it can be fun but I feel QW is a step sideways, instead of a step forward. Maybe it will be better when everyone knows how to use all the items and how to complete objectives.

Played both BETA's... was left severely dissappointed each time. A true example of a game that comes nowhere close to living up to the hype, and that's ID's fault for making out the engine and gameplay mechanics were the best thing since cheese and onion crisps were invented.

It's rubbish.

Bring back Allies v Axis, get rid of crap like vehicles/jetpacks and do away with large wide open maps.

After ET I can't see how it has all gone so wrong.... plenty more maps, some new weapons, maybe new classes/abilities, some 60 player servers and the community would have been in ecstasy over it.

Instead we have some crappy alien race who bounce around on jet packs dropping grenades at your feet and the rest of the game is ripped from battlefield with some objectives thrown in.

On a side note, anyone else pre-order the thing from Tesco at £12? Check your order lines now, because there's been a bit of a stealth increase to £25.

I don't mind them saying they've made a mistake, but not telling me? That's just not on.

Tesco's phoned round every 1 that jumped on that £12 deal and informed them of a pricing mistake, theres a thread on it somewhere.

I got a call but I was out. So I phoned them back. The guy said they pushed the release from the 14th to the 28th. I asked if it was still £12 and he said it was indeed £12.67.

I'd wait till they took the money and then phone them up and kick their ass tbh

also think powerplay have it for like 18 delivered
