Help me find a game of "skill"

A good poker player knows when to bet and when not to bet, using everything at his disposal such as reading other players at the table, calculating the odds in the mind, knowing what a good hand is, etc. In that regard I reckon poker is 80% skill

ive got just the game for you

come this way, you'll need these gloves and goggles.

its a 3 minute game and if you touch the floor more then twice im afraid its an automatic lock in

i dont understand what's going on here about chess, are people saying it's not skill based? which is the meaning i'm reading from some posts here

The ultimate game of skill, with an element of luck, is backgammon. However, there's no way the luck outweighs the skill...

I am an expert player (I'm not being arrogant; I've won championships) and have played tens of thousands of games, and I assess it* to be about 75% skill, 25% luck.

*That being the average game between opponents of poor to average ability. However, upon further reflection, I would say that the impact of luck is much more significant between two expert players. In fact, I have played rare opponents who were so good that virtually all of the games between us were decided by the luck of the dice.

Actually, given even more reflection, I would say that between experts the game probably qualifies for your 90%/10% ratio requirement. It just wouldn't apply to the average player unfortunately, so probably no good for your plan.

I think most of you have missed the point of this thread. The OP is clearly looking for a game he can set up to make money from online gambling without having to adhere to the laws which govern "Games of Chance". Kind of like those phone in competitions on TV that have a ridiculously easy question followed by a random draw between everyone who gets it right. In reality it's a game of chance, in the eyes of the law it's a game of skill.

A few chess fans. I really enjoy the game. Very little luck involved. I suppose really, only when your opponent makes a blunder there is luck involved. Otherwise, it is purely skill. The best player usually wins. So many different combinations, tactics, thought, and stratergies involved. Can be frustrating at times. Although, it is always a great feeling when a well thought plan comes into action.

Poker - I would say 80% skill, 20% luck. There is an element of luck invovled, but in the long run the odds pan out. It is always easier to remember the bad beats, than the good wins.

Unfortunately I don't have the link, but a few months ago there was a case where a bloke was running an after hours poker session in some sort of commercial establishment which would have been illegal if it was a game of chance (gambling) but legal if it was a game of skill. He went to court, but the judge deemed that poker was a game of chance.
