A bloke i know of has sold close to 25 copies @ £150 buy it now, i feel sorry for them as i watched my mate play the 2nd level last night and graphically the game is crap, maybe just a bad level? Multiplayer is where its at tho
I've only had a chance to have a quick play on the first level, but I agree, it looks pretty poor TBH. Gameplay seems very generic too. I'll see if it improves when I get a chance to play it properly over the weekend.

levels are: Goto A, do something. Goto B Do something. Goto A again, do something else, go back to B get on dropship.
EVERY level. Even worse some levels have actually had sections cut and pasted next to each other. Remember those old scooby doo cartoons where they would run past the same lamp and chair 20 times along a corridor? You'll definately get that feeling in here.

whats even more stupid i cant beleave someone just payed £250 on fleebay for the legendery edition..... so in theory they payed £230 for the helmet and £10 for the game becuse thats all the gameplay is worth. give extra £10 for extra content disk.

Now that is a concern.
Not saying i love Halo stories, but the Gears story didn't make sense.
Yeah Gears of War walks all over it with its bullet lag, glitches, magnets up your ass that attract you to the nearest object, VERY short story that makes no sense and its what 4 game modes? 3 of which are just different variations of each other. Hell even Halo 2 beats it as the top game played on Xbox Live and thats almost 3 years old.
So yeah we will see which game is better when people are still playing it 2-3 years down the line.

and the glitches your talking about are online and the bullet lag is your connection as i get no lag at all unless im playing on a poor ping USA servers.

also yes the game is short and who cares of halo3 is longer ? gears of war was awsome the hole way though graphicly and playability i dont think i can say that for halo3 and i have only played the first 2 levels.
here is a mind bender for you, Look at the water effects at the start of halo3
then look at the water effects of say BIOSHOCK ? or GEARS OF WAR ?
even when the guy runs though the water in halo at the start looks generic, no ripples, or anything lol, and you just made my point if you didnt get the gears of war story then simply put your a idiot lol, ( story : COg vs locast, the cogs = YOU are trying to destroy the Locasts Homeworld, = Underground layers. not very hard to figure that one out is it sherlock lol
anyway enough said about this game, people will see what i mean when they start playing it. (GENERIC is the only word i can find for this game, if the graphics where great then the genericness of the story and gameplay wouldnt have annoyed me so much but becuse graphics are just as poor as the game itself then i dont really have any good points about it, (generic game)

That was one of the things I noticed straight away, the water looks very poor. The game also suffers from the dreaded jaggies.

GoW looks pretty and that's it. Halo3 looks pretty (from what I have seen in the video docs and played in the beta) and if you took your head out of your arse for a second you would realise that the sorts of things Halo3 is capable of doing like forge "Real time Map editing" and the Movie capture are revolutionary. 4 player co-op not been done on a console yet. the list carries on and on.
Story wise my 15 month old son could come up with a better and more coherent story than Gow and he only says about 10 words; "Daddy", "Mummy", "Thank you", "Caaat!", "Doggie", "In a Minute" & "Hair".
Online game play. Well the fact that after several months of GoW, I have gone back to Halo2 says something about Halo and something else about GoW.
Imo Halo3 will be so so much better in every which way than GoW.

Dont get me wrong halo 3 multiplayer on live is going to be fantastic but i expected gears quality graphics, i was abit gutted to be honest
I always had known that the graphics where going to be pritty crap on halo3 compaired to GOW but i thought the gameplay would keep me playing but for the life of me it looks just infact it cant be explained, (GENERIC) nothing pritty much stands out graphicly, and im also sure they went over the top with the HDR effects....
anyway im hopeing this game improves later on in the levels but so far im not impressed.

It's quite clear you're a Gears of War fanboy then...
I liked Gears of War, is a great game, the storyline though. It was rubbish.
Halo 3, I look forward to, because I've liked the other 2 games and the multiplayer WILL be great.
To just blanket people as a Halo fanboy because they don't like Gears poor storyline is ridiculous.

don't worry guys, if you love halo single player and the story you won't be disappointed. Outdoor levels look very nice, inside are not so but no way near terrible, lmao, but they are indeed better than Halo2. Story is usual high standard, excellent cut scenes and sound, weapons fire isn't very loud though but nothing major as rather have the dramatic music playing. Currently on 2nd to last level and loved every minute of it so far, its short gameplay wise about 7/8hours but that seems to be the norm these days. As for online multiplay - cannot test as they ain't working yet - think MS is keeping people off it till nearer launch so its a more level playing field.
People love to slate Halo for some reason yet everyone plays it or at least the multi-player side of things
BTW neverfinished 1 or 2 so 3 must be better because i've nearly completed it, lol

Gears of War i thought was rubbish, but then again, I really dont like FPS games anymore, i used to love them, but there has been nothing new or innovative for years now. Bioshock I didnt enjoy either (at least I finished gears in its defence).
Halo i have never took to, i finished the first one, it was decent, Halo 2 i never even tried out. Halo 3 if it gets sold at a crazy cheap price ill pick it up, or wait for it to drop.
Its a bit worrying that they didnt allow review copies out, it reminds me of world cup 86, when the official game was kept under cloak and dagger, huge box, lots of extra's, but a reworking of a 5 year old spectrum game left a lot of people disapointed.
Seeing McManicman say its only 7/8 hours long actually makes it more appealing for me, i hate games that drone on for 30 hours to eek things out, id rather play a short fun packed game, than a long drawn out snoozefest.

the only one ive played too. and to be honest i thought it was pretty pants. (although ive only played it this year after playin gears, vegas etc. so might be unfair to judge.)
