Playing Halo 3 Early? Byebye Xbox Live...

well i just finished it, and it ROCKED, last level was amazing, won't go into details but it was so dramatic and cannot see why people would be moaning about the ending, thought it fitted the end of the series very well - JUST REMEMBER TO WATCH THE CLIP AFTER THE CREDITS - is all i'm going to say.

Loved it, loved every 2nd of it, miles better than any other fps game out on the 360, story, music, suspense - everything, was sad actually when it ended and i know if you love Halo you won't be dissappointed.

How many hours would you say it took you?

So how many people here got halo 3 legit and how many conveniently got access to...."preview copies".

(awaits no answers or rhetoric about getting access to a preview\review copy)

:p

Even if it is crap, the fanboys won't admit it, they just can't, it's impossible. They have a neverending, irrational and uncontrollable love of Halo.

They could open up their Halo 3 box on the 26th only to find a steaming pile of cat turd and they'd still make out that it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I've said on numerous occasions that the halo 2 campaign was crap compared to the original games?

About 5 if he played on normal/heroic.

Which sums up what Ive said all along, its a adult version of toy story ;)

5 hours seriously thats poo. How can any Halo fan be happy with that? Thats shorter than even Gears.

Sure the MP maybe awesome but what about the huge amounts of people that dont play much MP.

I'd like to play through the 4 player co-op to see how that goes, but 5 hours thats pathetic.

Must be due to DVD9 limitations ;)

he played it in normal mode. Which is way too easy tbh (well it was in H1 and H2) Miss K can walk through these games in Heroic (hard) by herself with little problem (when she can be bothered)

These games were designed to be played in Heroic or above they take stuff out for the easier modes.

TBH Heroic will be easy for anyone with Halo1 / 2 experience.

Totally agree

I would also say when I play through games like this for the first time, I never take it slow through the first play through which makes a massive difference.

Was going to say it also depends on how you play through the levels makes a massive difference to your final time. Halo 2 on Normal I can get through the level Outskirts in 10mins or less depending on how quickly I go. On Legendary that same level can takes atleast an hour.

Gears of War kept you in an area and prevented you from progressing until you did what you were supposed to, where as Halo just lets you move along at any speed you wish and doesnt keep you confined to any one area, It does in a couple of places but they are few and far between. This is playing from Halo 1&2, cant speak for 3 yet.

I'm not expecting some 20 hour epic, 6-8 hours on Normal sounds just about right if I was to plow straight through it, on Legendary though I expect it to be totally different story.

Roachy i'm certainly not a GoW fanboy and cant wait to get my halo next week but as i've stated the game from what i saw looks pants in single player. Your the fanboy, as per your sig.

God yeah some people just run through the levels, I make sure every living creature is dead. So much so I would sometimes forget the the flood in several areas are infinite spawn and you are meant to run on and be there for 10 15 min just slaying.

There were times where I would easily be able to walk on in H2 but there were those Giant Sentinels (the ones with the 2 front shields and could pick up tanks etc) I would have nothing more than a BR, shotty and grenades, but I'd be damned if I was not going to take that Mofo out before I moved on. (there was another period in the game where it turned out these were on infinite spawn and I reluctantly moved on)

I personally cant understand why people would play through a game without killing everything that can be killed.

sounds like a website trying to increase ad revenue gained from higher traffic to me

No its not, they are doing it. I got an email at work today saying that if we recieve Halo 3 early we are not allowed to take a rental copy before the official release date. Microsoft are banning accounts, and from what ive heard you remain banned until you divulge where you acquired the game from,, them Microsoft can get in touch with the company that broke the release date.

No one is being banned

They arent banning anyone, since all the ones that pirated it would have been banned by now and we would be hearing about it everywhere on the net.

Microsoft cant ban people and force them to divulge the information though can they? surely they should just expect people to come clean about it free of will, as the trouble should not be a burden of the consumer which has done nothing wrong.

They should just send a message to all the accounts on xboxs that have played the game early and request users report where they received the game early from..
