Make XboX live Free!!

i got a message from someone on my contact list regarding an online petition to make xbox live free. to participate simply change your gametag motto to "Make XboX live Free!!".

i suspect this will be a waste of time, but what the hell its worth a shot.

anybody else heard about this?
 
It's stupid even thinking about it.

Even if it was free, we'd be the ones directly missing out because Live wouldn't be as reliable/such a large resource.

I'm quite happy paying ~£3 a month for my Gold subscription thanks. :)
 
Sounds good to me, but i dont think it will make a difference mate.

At the end of the day, microsoft are charging people to pay on the internet and most people have/ will do. If they can make money out of it , i think it would be unlikely they would change it.

Plus, £40 a year isnt too much when you break it down into monthly payments which is roughly 3.30 a month - it doesnt sound too bad when you put it that way :)
 
MS already make a huge loss on Live, I seriously doubt they would make it free. Besides, it is not hard to find somewhere selling a 12month sub for ~£33 which makes it even cheaper.
 
I get great speeds almost all the times, except when a *hugely* popular demo gets released. Then it takes a little longger. So no worse than downloading a demo for the PC.

Yeah but even then the slowdown is fairly minimal.

A years subscription to Xbox Live is well worth the price to be honest. Yes it would be nice if it was free but its not as if it works out as prohibitively expensive really is it?

Why would it go downhill?. Currently most games are p2p , so cost microsoft nothing it terms of hosting , the stuff that does (marketplace etc) , is free anyway. The sub only covers the online gaming which is all user hosted anyway. So I'm not sure how making it free , would make it worse?.

Don't you see? Gold members pay for the stuff that is free to silver members.
 
£40 a year is £40 a year too much if sony can provide it free with better bandwidth. It took 4 hours to download 25% of pro evo today on an 8mb connection - glad that i dont pay for basic live
