Make XboX live Free!!

What is a rip off, in my opinion, is the Live Arcade portion of the service. The games are too expensive and many are incredibly unsubstantial given how much they cost - especially in comparison to those found on Nintendo's Wii service. Why not give us a free download with every subscription renewel?

What? I think XBLA is very well priced, if the games are unsubstantial then your buying the wrong games. Stuff like Bomberman and Geo Wars have been played more than some of my full games! Also the difference between XBLA and the Wii's service is that they are (mostly) new games.

12 year old has XBL, loads up halo and acts like a noob so much he gets banned. What's he going to do? Pay again and try to act decent or pay again to get banned again?

I don't know the details on the PS3 online service but I assume if someone gets banned they can just make a new account?

No one has a mic on the PS3 and if they do they spend the entire game saying "can anyone hear me?" anyway so you may as well be playing a single player game :p

lol too true, I was usually the guy going 'Can anyone hear me?'

Yeah I had some guys who had mics once though, shame the quality was just awful and some were louder than others.

It's just retarded they didn't include an official mic with the PS3, be it wired or bluetooth.

I really think they should bundle a mic with the PS3, just ruins online for me. Most people have cheapo bargain bucket jobbies that sound awful. They also think they have to shout to get heard, you dont shout when your talking on the phone with a BT headset so why do it online, grrrr!

Resistance would be that much more better online if everyone had mics and it if it had a decent noise gate.

Dedicated Servers have one downside. You can bet they wont be around for ever. There was a music rhythm game for the PS2 that had its servers closed down a while back. I know it was probably closed down due to inactivity. But its nice to know with some games I can always have a game.

Depends how they go about doing em. If they done it like pc games , then as long as game had players/community , you would have servers. Get developers of games to release pc side server executables. Then the dedicated servers could be hosted by companies like multiplay etc or by private boxes in data centres. Costs would be picked up by clans , communities , isps using them as advertising , game hosting places using as advertising etc.

Everyone wins. Dedicated servers , no cost to microsoft and as long as the game has a good player base , you will get servers. Hopefully get the player count in games up aswell.

Works fine for pc , can't see why it wouldn't work for live aswell.

I have to buy 4 Live accounts a year (GF and kids) at nearly £160 it does seem unfair as it's the same console in the same house :(
