Lord of the Rings Online

yeah there are absolutely thousands of quests.

the guys i regularly fellow with are all starting alt characters,

if you have the patience to work your way into the high lvls a second time round then this is the best way to experience everything and get the most out of your money.

personally im quite lazy so i might just stick with my main.

P.S finally got the last page of my third legendary trait yesterday after 2 weeks farming, you wouldnt beleive how happy that made em :)

p.p.s im informed "shadow masters" kinship is now doing a bit of a recruitment drive and as an officer im expected to put the word out, so if u find yourself on the snowbourn server, all alone and friendless drop me a tell @ /tell lokion and we can see about joining up, all classes and lvls r welcome only rule is that you have to be friendly! as always tho u can still send me a tell or add me to ** friends list if u just want some ingame advise or a bit of a chat :)

The free trial is through the buddy key system afaik. No way I am going to pay £30 for a game just to try and see if I want to continue it. Eve Online's client is free to download. All you pay is your subs. Paying £30 for a game to then pay a monthly sub is kinda lame imho.
you will still need to buy an account with eve the client isn't any good without buying one :D

What is the end game content like, is it as time intensive as WoW?

I've got a lvl 17 champ, but left it to go back to raiding in WoW, and as we all know the end game content in that game can eat up your life if you let it :p

Picked this up a few days ago after dliberating buying it for awhile and have really enjoyed the game online thus far being a lotr fan.

One thing i have to ask though is does anybody else notice in a lot of areas that there does not seem to be any background music?.

I have the volume slider turned right up and the music was there in the first town of the game but after that going abit further into the game there seems to be hardly any music.

There is music when you fight creatures etc but none of the ambient music you normally get in towns.

if u manage to get onto the Snowbourn server feel free to add me to your friends list incase u need and help etc

to send a message ingame the command is /tell lokion "message content"

*shameless plug time* if you fancy joining a kinship (u really should join one even if its not ours to enjoy the game most) then the kinship im in (shadow masters) is currently recruiting we're a large v active kin with members at verying lvls and classes u can expect plenty of help as long as your nice lol

any way if your interested or just want some advise feel free to drop me a tell/ anytime im online.

Has anyone reached or nearing the end game content for this yet? if so whats it like, are the raids on a similar scale to WoW?

I recently downloaded the trial to see whats it like and Im finding it to be a WoW rip off on many things. Even worse, if there are aspects of the game which arent 1 on 1 similar to WoW, they are often worse.

I thought I would like the game as a fan of MMORPGs but I admit that I would rather go back to WoW if there was a choice. Even a Lord of the rings fan's loyalties may be challenged here in a sense that the game(at least for the stages I reached) hardly recreates the Tolkien world imo.And the better(than WoW) graphics cannot make this game the best MMORPG at this point.Shame really...

Lord_Kokain, its not trying to be the best mmorpg, that will always be SWG ... nor is it trying to be the new WoW its simply another mmo thats based in tolkiens world , it has its good and bad points and is generally a good game .. personally i tend to find that a game like this is only as good as the people you play it with

If the game was out before WoW, it would have been awesome. Now,however, it cannot avoid being benchmarked with the leader in the industry. As I mentioned, its mainly good for LOTR fans.

anyone got a trial key? i wouldnt mind a go love all tolkien stuff

If you havent played the trial before,I believe you could just go onto the site and download it. Im not sure what would you need a key for.

After starting to get a bit bored of the end game content

i've now decided to re role as a hunter (ppl say its a fun class to play)

so im now starting in a new area and getting ready for a slog through the levels :)
