Fastest motorist to be sentenced

Absolutely ridiculous speed to be driving at in such a well respected high performance car.

He deserves to be shot. Just look at his face. You can see the evil.

Wonder what 172mph feels like. Insane, bet it's fun though.

Havent done it on a road, but on a runway its surprisingly un-exciting mid run. The most shocking thing is when you come to brake - only then do you realise how fast you're going as it takes you a looong time to slow down to corner-taking speeds. I remember missing a braking marker by less than a second which was the difference between making a corner comfortably and having an 'oh ****' moment as the end of the runway loomed.

Its strange how physics affect you (this was on a bike) but slowing from 165 seemed to take so very much longer than 140, which is a speed I've done several times, including on a road (IOM mountain before the safety nazis start)

he should know by now

its not a motors speeding thread without "will somebody think of the children" somewhere

its like fish without chips, tom without jerry etc..

i believe its actually in the forum guidelines somewhere too, that posting of "will somebody think of the children" is mandatory :D

Yeah, but in fairness most people put the ;) or  by it, and some people actually mean it, especially when they put the .

But yeah, I should know by now, I've been in Motors long enough.

Indeed.

Apparently the guy nearly got off this one as they had a hard time proving it was actually him driving it. The police had to present the jury with a photo of the car with some bread on it, to prove it was his.

Wow...the police must trawl the OcUK forums...where else would they get the bread idea?

:p

On topic...the guy should be banned for life for being a muppet. As for jail time, to be honest I don't see the point, the government is always going on about the state of prisons etc. with them being overcrowded, so he should get lots of fines etc. instead.

Yeah, prison time is a waste, he'll be out in no time due to overcrowding and whatever. Mind you, he's lost his job because of it too. If he's going inside for a few months he'll be hard pushed to pay his bills and so on. He's probably paid quite hard for it already, in many ways.
