More than any other factor, Brazilian football owes its worldwide prestige to the individual brilliance and creativity of its top players.

Take Leonidas and his bicycle kicks, Didi and his 'dry leaf' free-kicks, the amazing dribbles of Garrincha and the countless innovations of Pele.

So the Brazilian game has been having a long, hard look at itself in the past week as a result of the violent reaction to yet another local creation - Kerlon's so-called 'seal dribble'.

Nineteen-year-old Kerlon has developed an ability to flick the ball into the air and then run while balancing it on his forehead - a bit like a circus seal.

Funny, but his eye is on the ball and he simply goes in a straight line and runs into defenders then gets a freekick. Do that in the Premier league will result in a "accidental head butt" no doubt ;)

Seen this fella quite a few times on youtube, Kerlon isnt it??. a lot of people saying hes gonna be the next man utd player:p.

Amazing skill but im surprised the refs dont pull him up on his ball on the head balancing act:p. Surely you cant tackle him with the ball on his head can you??:p

I love the guy in yellow who just kicks him as hard as he can in his chest.

The guys career won't last long enough for him to be a world class player, he'll be dead in a few years after being kicked to death while bouncing a ball on his head.

I don't see anything wrong with it myself. It's not like he is gonna be able to do it every single time he tries, and I'd imagine that refs would eventually get much more lenient on other players challenging him for the ball in the air. No, you can't tackle him with your feet, but there's no reason why you can't challenge for the ball like you normally do with a header. If you watch his technique, he's almost crouching slightly for some of the headers so i can't see why a big strapping lad like Huddlestone or Essien won't just be able to step in there and take everything.

At the end of the day, I remember seeing this vids ages ago (well over a year) and nothing has really progressed since as far as I can see.
