cheap PS3 ebay: scam?

I've seen a few things like this in the past. Quite a few revolve around you getting a certain number of friends to sign up for something.

But for 99p its not much to lose.

isnt it one of those things where you have to take up to insurance etc for several years and sign up to lots of news letters?

If you have to ask then it is probably a scam is the simple advice.

Generally these things are pyramid schemes of a sort, if you get in early enough then it might be worthwhile but the chances are you will come out down on the deal. :)

thought it would be a scam of some sort, was just interested if anyone knew anymore about these kind of things and what they possibly might be.

I'll bet his email says
''find 400 fools to part with 99p and you have your free playstation, try looking for them on eBay''

It is either information for one of the following:

- "sign up to company x, y, z and get 5 friends to do the same and you get a PS3 for £10"
- pyramid scheme
- prize draw where a ticket costs £10

I am pretty certain it will not be anything else. Unless it is something fairly illegal.

I wouldnt touch that with a big barge pole!

My theory on ebay (and the rest of the net) is...

If its too good to be true its a scam!

Just stay well away mate!

If he can get them for £10 or less, and he himself says 'think of the resale price' of £400 , why doesn't he just get a crap load?

Scam, clear and simple.

As well as the options listed earlier, another favourite of ebay muppets is to say that all you need to do to get a PS3/360/Ferrari/whatever is to write to the manufacturer and ask for a sample to review and they'll just send you one for free and not expect it back.

If only this was true *sigh*
