Ok, so I'm at uni now, and we get he opertunity to take part in research experiments for money etc, (sent through and approved by university.)

So now the question, Do you think i should try this one (most money)(£40)

Description
We're looking for healthy male volunteers aged 18-45 interested in helping us with our research into looking into how drugs used to treat schizophrenia work.

This will involve taking a low oral dose of a commonly used antipsychotic drug and having an fMRI brain scan whilst carrying out various tasks.

This study is being carried out under the supervision of Prof. Bill Deakin and Dr Serdar Dursun, and has been approved by the NHS Research Ethics Committee and the ethics of Research on Human Beings of the University of Manchester

so what you reckon? I think I'm going to try it, anyone else done anything like it?

(don' think this counts as a medical thread but if it does mods please do whatever to it)

I would say go for it if you feel safe doing it. It's more than likely to be fine and easy money. But I definitely wouldn't do it after hearing a story in the news ages ago where some guy became severely disabled from one of these tests.

I thought Stopford was where Chem things are (opposite union, next to church... 60s building). I think the whole idea of a Freshers ball is a bit bizzare... unless everyone had dates etc.

If you can afford it, you can't beat lunch in Umami on Oxford Rd (£5 starter+main).... Beats the uni food places by far.

See if they do any malaria trials at your uni - they do them to test vaccines for malaria at mine and you get paid around £1500 in total - does mean getting malaria though which is apparently like severe flu for 2 weeks (though less risky due to daily monitoring and so on).

I hear they do a HIV one too.

(joke)
