Ive got a free drinks and meal voucher at my gym that i have to use by 30th this month. I dont really want to go by myself because i will look like a loner (and greedy) Neither do i want to go with a lad mate because it might look quite gay just two of us going. Therefore im considering taking a girl

Ive recently been getting better mates with her and i find it easy to talk to her. Plus she is extremely hot (way out my league) If she wanted anything to happen of course i would accept (after asking mate first, which ill come to in a min) If she didnt want anything to happen theres a chance i would be less of a friend to her which might bodge up nights out because her good mate is involved with one of my mates.

Another of my mates used to go out with her and he is over her but im not too sure she is properly over him.

Good idea to take a girl thats your friend out for a meal or not?

Not comfortable with your sexuality eh? ;)
I've been out for meals where it's been just me and another bloke loads of times.

That said if I had to choose between a mate and a hot girl I know who I'd rather go to dinner with :p
I don't particularly see a problem with it personally, it's just a meal.

yes its a good idea, the worst that can happen is you will come away still friends. Unless you make any school boy errors.

With that attitude regarding leagues nothing is ever going to happen. Girls like men with confidence and a positive attitude, your already starting off on the wrong foot, like you look up to her and she is too good for you. Wrong!!!! You are who you are, and she should be pleasured to acccompany you out to a freebie dinner.

Just ask her what she is doing on the date, if she says nothing say i have a voucher for some free grub and drinks, fancy joining me? If she makes up an excuse or whatever, just say well the invite is there, and just let me know if you can or not. If she says no then you need to find another bit of skirt to take with you. Don't sound upset or down if she turns you down, take another skirt and show her you are a man in demand and she was foolish to reject you. Then, make attempt number 2 to get her out, if she declines, your done for, forget her and use her as a tissue friend.

May the force be with you!

Take her... then start playing footsy under the table.

Suggest going Dutch when the bill arrives - hopefully she won't have any money with her and she'll have to pay you in kind ;)

edit: in seriousness, Matt's post is very good advice.

Seriously man, you only live once... oh boy how many times I wish I had taken opportunities given to me in situations like this.

I use to see a girl all the time as a mate and one time invited her out for a meal as a mate, she then told me that she had liked me for ages, she was then my girlfriend for a good 2 years till I screwed that one up lol :D

bah, ManDates can be fun! I wouldn't have a problem going out for a ManDate - as long as it wasn't a romantic, candle-lit affair!

If it's a girl, just give her the whole premise - say you got some free meal passes (take all the potential romance out of the situation) and you were wondering if she wanted to go. If you do actually like her, or could potentially like her, be a gent, and treat it as an example of how kickass a date would be if you were with her! ;)

mates > girls..

yeah man, take the girl on a meal - it's all cool, but be sure the other dude aint gonna get vex/jealous over it.. :)

Tell me about it :( We had a contractor working behidn me for a week who was very hot. We had similar intrests in music and kept refering music to eachother, discussing novels and films etc. She seemd genuinely intresting and have decent views on things,. Not your typical tart who's only social life is a short skirt for saturday nights with mates and Sex and the City on DVD.

She's gone now :( I did however give her my number and used the lame line "If your ever out in XXXX then give me a shout, we can hook up for a drink" When what i should have said was "Do you fancy a drink one evening next week? Or fancy seeing XXXXX Band" :( Slightly gutted...
