Found my old N64 in the loft

I eventually sold my PAL N64 and bought a US one that could also play Jap games, I loved F-Zero on the SNES so when it came out in Japan I had to have it straight away. I think I was playing it for about 9 months before the slower PAL release came out over here:p

Only problem was that my TV couldn't display the 60hz NTSC signal so I ended up stumping up another £550 for a 28" Toshiba tv that would do the trick. Spent a lot of money and didn't go out for weeks after because I was too busy playing F-Zero.

The N64 was one console I never owned but absolutely loved.

The F Zero game was awesome, as well as the ones already mentioned above.

Had some great times on it with a friend of mine.
I remember playing Mario party for about 11 hours straight and we both had no skin left on the palm of our hand from all the joystick rotation the mini games required. My god we were in pain after thant, blisters all over the place.

Lylat Wars, what a game! For me one of the hidden gems of the N64 was Blast Corps, I think I've still got it for my N64 upstairs under the bed. Might hook it up while my wife is away this week.

its called starfox 64 DAMMIT:mad:

Well done you have a NTSC US version.

UK PAL was called Lylat Wars

hey it was a joke, but well done for stating the obvious

[continue joke] it should always have been called starfox 64. lylat wars is a silly name for a remake of starfox on the snes[/end joke]

Everyone knows it should have been called StarWing64 as that was such a far better name than StarFox or Lylat Wars ever was...

Well I think the copyright for the name StarFox is owned by a game that came out on the C64 or Spectrum so it was called Starwing on SNES and then Lylat Wars on the N64.

I believe it was Starfox Adventures on the Gamecube and Starfox Assault, I wonder why?

Although it was multiplatform, Vigilante 8 was such a freaking brilliant game. One of the best multiplayers on the n64 I though. If you see it cheap, snap it up, the battle fields were so interactive!

A remake for the Xbox 360 is being created by Isopod Labs[1], an independent company formed by the founders of Luxoflux, and is set to be released the summer of 2007 for Xbox Live.[2]
OMG!

Brilliant, I had most of those I think. I had the World Cup 98 one, it was ISS but with an official World Cup licence I think so they had the commentators speaking japanese but you could hear the players names from time to time. It was great when a goal was scored, they got so excited:

"GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!! Goal goal goal!"

Also, the artwork on the Japanese game boxes was so much better. The one for F-Zero X that you have there (I had it too, brilliant game) is so much better than the PAL version.

I got mine down not that long ago.........and I kinda wish I had left the memories in the loft too lol.

...on another note.....just what the hell was the expansion pack , remember buying this for Turok2!....was it like more ram?.......a whole 4mb worth?

More memory ya. Let some games use 'high res' textures. :D

I don't I had a lot of fun playing banjo kazooie again and especially Fzero X, which honestly is way better than GX. They were the main two I was playing, but now my PC is broken I can't lol

I had a whole load of N64 games, which this thread is making me want to go and dig out of my dad's garage lol. Hopefully it'll all still work - I think my N64 was pretty much relegated to the garage when I persuaded my dad to borrow me the money for the Dreamcast! :D

Happy days, between those consoles. Unfortunately, I missed all of the expansion pack games - I may be on Ebay at some point in the near future...
