8800GTS 320Mb or X2900Pro 512Mb

Its odd that the two power connectors are still there. I thought you could have gotten away with one.

The thing is its a stop gap so they will lower costs by just changing the bios on XT to Pros and sell them on. If they waste time on making just pros for a certain amount of time and then XT they will lose money.

Nothing lol, I'm just saying I dont think what he said is correct, GTS overclocked aint way ahead of a 2900 overclocked for sure.

I agree with you Will. I think the same. Sorry if I came across the wrong way there :o.

Why is the 2900 out your sig though?.

looks like ati will never get the hang of opengl. thankfully not many games come out using opengl.

Yeah, they've always been behind in that regard but as you've said. It's nothing to worry about really.

This is what it says
"With the TES 1326 Infrared Thermometer literally in hand we found ourselves getting real-world temperatures from the products we test at load (3D clock speeds).

There are two places we pull temperature from - the back of the card directly behind the core and if the card is dual slot and has an exhaust point we also pull a temperate from there, as seen in the picture."

I think the temps are an average from the 3 places mentioned?.

RavenUK, I would prefer the GTS in a small case as even at 6'C hotter, that is a lot for a small case and the cooler the better. If it were a bigger case then my choice of cards would be different but in this scenario it would be the GTS.

i saw a GTS and 2900 Pro for exactly the same price. i am glad i purchased the 2900 Pro becasue i would worry about only having 320mb ram on the nvidia at high resolutions.
