Pencil volt mod for you 88gtx anyone?

Some of these people over at vr-zone and xtremesystems etc dont do things in half measures :D .

That's why i'm not a member ;)

I got artefacting after 45mins of ati tool artefact scanning, games fine though, starts to have issues in cpu intensive games (all in the same loop, and the temps of every componant starts to rise then...)

I've removed the mod for now, still clocks to 720 on the core without any issues though :) silly bugger that i am though, forgot to run 3d mark

More to come tonight i think (or not if it goes fzzp)

Good luck Viper. I hope you can get it stable enough to see what this card is capable off. Another loop maybe?.

Ok, after going back into the pics to see what to mod, i realise i been modding my mem not my vcore... so how on earth can this allow me such a high clock on the core

I also assume that i cannot just pencil the below to increase vcore...

I'm stumped now, because it was definately the memory pencil mod that i was using before, 100% sure on that, but it allowed me to increase my vcore

Needless to say, i've stopped the modding untill i can find out what's going on :)

Erm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Weird results like this is a nightmare when you need solid and stable results to what you're used to seeing.

I hope you get some clarification on this soon as it will drive you nuts .

What are you going to do if you don't find anything soon as you had some crazy clocks going there?. If stable, that card would fly and the Ultra would cry :).

Yes you can pencil for MEMORY same as nearly all Memory Mods, its Core that sometimes cant be done if its a very low resistance to start of with, thats why VR-Zone do not show you pencil for CORE but the other sites does and warns you its hard to only lower it a tiny bit.

Core is same for both cards, Memory on GTX/Ultra is same as VR-Zones not other site as GTS.

Why has my SIG changed from 3 long lines as allowed to 4 short lines of text ?

Although i have the same chip, the resistor layout is different, it's just like the layout on vr-zone take a closer look at the 2 pics dude, they are not the same :(

Still confused as to why my mem volt mod allowed me to dramatically increase the core clock...

I already stated the CORE is the only MOD's the same, the Memory on the other site if for a GTS.

I though you wanted to Pencil Mod the Memory no ?

If you mean Pencil the CORE, the Chip is same layout for CORE on that EVGA GTS and the GTX on VR-Zone and my own EVGA Ultra SC. (it dont matter if its not exactly same location it will be near it.

You may have a non standard layout like Gainward/Pallit although all cards should be same in the 8800 series.

Pencil the Resistor I made GREEN from the VR-Zone Mod.

The only thing stopping me is I would need remove cards Black Passive Sink on its rear to measure voltage points and if I am going that far I would strip it down and apply AS5 to the Core as its never done well with the stock white Goo.

I'm guessing....16300 in 06:D?
My GTX @ 670/1050 scores 14700.
Not sure why but when I locked my PCI bus @ 105 from auto it allowed me to overclock another 20mhz on the core and memory:)Any ideas why?
Funny to think a couple weeks ago my GTX hit a wall at 630/1030:cool:Loving the upgrade to watercooling:D

didnt run 3dmark at those clocks  i can get 16300 with 725/2380

Upping the pcie freq give slightly more bandwidth, and can lead to getting some better clocks, also, the sweet spot of 105mhz seems to all ow you to increase cpu clocks slightly too...

I managed 14800 with my gtx at 660/1040 :D
