I am flying in to Brussels airport and land at 8:30pm on Friday, I want to catch the 2nd half of the England Tonga rugby match on TV! I am sure this is nearly impossible however I am going to try. Does anyone know Brussels airport? Is the airport very close to any towns (Brussels itself is around 20 mins on the train)?
Failing that does anyone know any rugby pubs in Brussels??!

This is all rather desperate I know - but I am hoping the power of OcUK can help!

Heh, I know Brussels airport fairly well, but there doesn't seem much point in bothering to answer your questions after seeing Bill101's post :D

Maybe the airport has a lounge with a big TV, I would have thought that a country without even a decent football team would not be bothered about other countries playing rugby.

It doesn't.

As far as I can see, the OP has 2 options: rush to the hotel and hope the match is on the channels there (check online which channels are broadcasting it, then phone hotel and ask if they offer these channels) or rush to the city centre and find an Irish Pub, they usually show this sort of thing. I think there's one or two near the Grande Place.

I don't remember seeing any pubs at Brussels airport either... there may be some, but I don't recall seeing any.

I mostly took taxis to get to the city centre, but have taken the train before too. The train took about half an hour, from what I remember.

By the way... we are talking about Zaventem, right? You're not flying in to Charleroi are you?

How fast were yours going?

Mine always average around 90-140kmh:o
:D

Belgian taxi drivers are pretty bad... Dutch are even worse, but Parisians are the worst and always scare me. The Belgians all drove nice cars though - much better than the typical Nissan Sunny type of taxi that I always seem to get in Swindon.
