Howdy,

Finally figured out how to get FSX on all 3 of my monitors :-)

2x 24" 2407's on an X1950XT
1x 15" ELO Touch screen on a FX5500

The touch screen lets me interact with the virtual cockpit, it is not perfect but it does work :-)

Here is a quick video of it all working ->

And some pics:

All of them.

The 24" ers.

Pretty sweet :-)

Now looking to get an 8800GTX to replace the X1950XT. The FX5500 has to stay unless I go SLI.

Niiice :)

Slightly off topic now, do you have the blue backlighting on while using the pc or does it distract too much?

Looks cool, but cant you get your 3rd screen(touch one) just to show your GPS/Radio etc pannels rather than the right side of the cockpit? Just that the size of it makes it look a bit odd (still better than just 1 screen like me :p lol).

Very good. If you could have 2 more of those bigger monitors you could have full cockpit view. Could be wrong but dont big planes have 4 windows in the cockpit? You could then use the smaller monitor (touch screen) as your instruments panel..

Still. Looks very good and I wish I could have a setup like that..

I do, in the vid you can see that I use it for throttle, and overhead controls :-)

Yeah the backlighting comes on when the pc is on. The camera makes it look very bright, but it is not all that bright to the eye.

Awesome setup there.

Is the blue lighting from the back just a feature of that monitor?

Nope, its a bog standard cold cathode tube. The inverters are wired to a spare plug in the pc case. Switch the pc on or off, and the lights do the same. Simple.

Mmmm.... so verytempted to set that up myself now, I recall thinking it looked great in the desk photos thread too :)

That's fantastic, congrats on having an awesome machine.:)

I did a similar thing with 3 17" TFTs for my local air cadets once. Apparently it works well. It certainly looks good.:)

i'm jealous and I was just about to post that my EVO joystick had arrived after ordering it on the 6th September only to see this thing of beauty. Makes my joystick purchase shrink in shame.... hehe

what plane is that?

parts of it look remarkably similar to a next gen 737 but the EICAS is laid out wrong and there's no LNAV or VNAV on the glareshield.

The whole setup looks very good though - I use 2 17" TFT's together at 2560x1024 and offset the VC camera so the gap in between the monitors is in a non-critical place. I only use VC though, so an instrument view isn't needed.
