Found my old N64 in the loft

The N64...

How I LOVED that console!!!

At Uni the done thing was a Friday night with mates and beer having winner-stays-on at GoldenEye two-player. Complex with Pistols

Can't remember what I paid for my copy of that at the time? £40 ish? Worth EVERY Goddamn penny. Rare and Nintendo just made that console a must have.

GoldenEye
Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo-Kazooie
Pilot-Wings
WaveRace 64? Got that off the Virtual Console for the Wii and been playing it since! Still a stunningly playable title.

Blast Corps. That was a very original and very addictive game. One of those games where when you're playing you could throw the controller out the window and smash a wall down you're so mad, but then you'll bang on for hours about how good a game it is!!! :p

I still have a working N64 and some working titles. I lent it to my nephew when he was little and I think they've been treated slightly less well than I would've :(
Shouldn't have lent it to the little... terror.

Sighs happily :)

Awesome console, there was something about it I can't put my finger on.

I still have mine with about 20 odd games ! Remember reserving the N64 and going to get it with my mum on launch day. Happy days.

I certainly loved my N64 which is why I never parted with it. Only wish when it originally came out was retained the 'Ultra' tag and came out with the original arcade perfect version of Killer Instinct rather than the poor KI: Gold.

I ordered a Scart cable off ebay and it came today but when I use either scart socket nothing shows up just a pink screen but I can hear the sound of the game.

For someone reason Nintendo decided to build the N64 with no RGB* support which is probably the reason your not getting a picutre. Unfortunatly the best picture you can get with a PAL N64 is by using a composite cable.

*The Jap N64 can be modded to produce RGB the PAL one can't

Biggest N64 memories....

1. Launch in US, I picked up an imported machine with Mario 64 (still my fave game ever), Wave Race and Pilot Wings for £500.

2. Purchased Shadows of The Empire on import for....... £130!

3. Purchased Mario Kart 64 (Jap version) with additional Pad for £150!

And they that carts over CDs were the way forward.....

Does anyone remember the big expansion thing that sat under the console. Did that ever come out?

I remember getting mine when it first came out. Moving on from a megadrive, it was amazing. Around £350 for console, game, and an extra controller I think.

The 64DD did come out in Japan only but was ill-backed, I think it was only useful for F-Zero circuit customisation and few random games, I think there was a Pokemon title too?

Damn I hate these threads. Makes me miss the old days immensely! I had a 6 month buying spree for old games/consoles to get back the ones I stupidly sold back in the day around a year ago. Wouldn't make the mistake again.
